Thanks to Marc and Bob my long neglected Beast is well on the road to recovery. They got done in a week what would've taken me a year of sundays! Had a nice long drive back from Chicago via Illinois back roads to celebrate. Here's the list:
Coolant system flush.
New thermostat.
New clutch hydraulic fluid.
Flush brake hydraulic system.
New transmission lube.
New engine oil (Amsoil 10W-40) & filter.
New oil drain plug seal washer.
Complete set of fuel injectors (no more misfires!).
New HVAC vacuum check valve.
New HVAC air door motor (I have heat!).
Installed new hood gas lift rod.
Installed hatchback gas lift rod (it goes up all by itself now!).
New oil fill cap seal.
Reconditioned CD player (I can play all of my awesome 80's tunes now!).
Reconnected rear defroster terminal lug.
Replaced horn (Marc only had one on hand, but at least it works now!).
Hatchback release switch on drivers door works now.
VATS bypassed.
AYBKG5 calibration chip installed (1st to 4th interlock is gone; woo-hoo!).
Replaced airbag sensor.
Custom ECM bracket installed (mine was busted).
Remove and clean radiator. (ICW the chip, Car runs notably cooler now).
Remount a bunch of loose stuff.
Replace a horde of missing fasteners with correct ones. I'm surprised the car held together this long.
Tightened up my loose roof panel (no rattles at all on the trip home).
New spark plugs.
Replaced lumbar pump.
New radio amplifier.
Repaired #2 fuel pump relay.
Still a few things left to do, but she's getting there!

I commend your good sense to send it to Marc for all that stuff. Those things would have driven you nuts over a long period of time and you would have missed half of them. Marc and Bob are so experienced and knowledgeable that they know what to look for and how to fix it. I did exactly the same thing when I got my '95 in the spring of 2012. It was only a 20,000 mile car, but before I drove it much more than a few miles, I gave to Marc to "do everything needed" and he performed a list of items like yours. A LOT was needed for a car that had sat much of its life. Also did a few extras like a 4.10 rear, Hurst shifter, Corsa exhaust, etc. But then the bug bit me and the next winter I sent it back for the 510 package. So watch out. The quality of his work combined with the performance results is addictive. --Bob

Totally agree, worth every penny. My beast needed a lot, just built up over the years with previous owners not taking care of the little things. As far as the power upgrade, that pesky bug seems to have found me! :-D

Seems like it. I hear 70's are in the works this week though. Might be time for a wash and wax.

Yeah, I'm a bit amazed actually. The car was fun to drive even with four shorted injectors, and plugs that looked like they'd been in the car since 1990! Only really noticed the misfires in 5th and 6th gear. Now it just flies with no hiccups, stronger pull across the board. Marc thought I got 20 HP back at least.

I just learned from this post there is a rear hatch release on the driver's side door, ha! That's handy (mine works!)

Will do. The Z was putting a big fat smile on my face on the way back from Addison.

It depends on the year my 95 only has one on drivers door.

Marc does a great job. I have had three ZR-1's and I haven't hesitated to drive the four and a half hours to give him the car to tune/correct/adjust/dial it in.

Mark is definitely the ZR-1 whisperer. We as a group of dedicated owners are so VERY lucky to have him and his knowledge available.

Big fan of it. No contortions to reach into the car and open the center console (which is now intact again, thanks to Marc & Bob) anymore. Switch works much better with the terminal lug attached! Makes me wonder what the heck the previous owners did to my poor Z.

Agreed. He called me right away when he discovered problems so we could talk through what I wanted to do with them. Glad I was able to find him through this forum.
