Hi everyone,

I thought I'd join up the forum as I am currently looking to buy a C6 ZR-1. I am a British citizen and have always loved ZR-1s but having a wide LHD car in the UK (with our narrow roads) was never really feasible. However, I have recently moved abroad and need a LHD car registered here so I have decided to get a C6 ZR-1 now (I would love a C7 ZR-1 but apparently they will not be sold in Europe due to pedestrian safety regulations here ).

Anyway, I have a general question. In order to protect the paintwork, I plan to wrap the car after I purchase her but my concern is about the removal of the wrap given how flexible the rear bumper is. Is it still fine to wrap a C6 ZR-1, like most other cars, or could the removal of the wrap actually cause the bumper to crack? I assume that it will deform and then return to shape but ...

Cheers for your advice (another question in the Technical section as well).

Have a good Easter everyone!

Are u wanting to wrap the entire car or use something like Cleartastic to protect the paint?

It will be an entire colour change wrap (except the roof, which will have a clear wrap added). The main intention is to protect the paint (double-wrap the front sections) but also to add some individuality to the car

Are you asking about C4 Zr1 or C6 Zr1?

I don’t think on a c4 you will have an issue most of the people here are more familiar with the c4 Zr1.

I would suggest you do more research on the Corvette Forum about transport wraps.

SOunds like a vinyl wrap color change. It will be more than fine on the c6 zr1. Im going to guess you may be referring to the Jeremy Clarkson review where he pokes the rear end and shows its flimsy. There are panels on a lot of cars that are as soft even the C4 zr1 rear bumper can be pushed inwards a little. I'd recommend a quality brand for the wrap some shoppes push sponsored products and nowadays there are a LOT of cheap china brand wraps that just aren't the same as many of the top quality ones. Search 'C6 wrap' on youtube there are plenty of videos showing it being done and removed.

Not sure that might be a good idea,I’ve read it may damage the paint but I’ve never experienced the process.
