Exactly what I was looking for😉 thanks!
You don't by chance remember the cap/thread size do you?

14mm freeze plug. Hard to find. Got it here... added a couple spot welds to keep it in place.

:cheers:That's a little nicer than my solution. I used a 14mm bolt (not fully threaded).

Why wouldn't you ID the thread and go for a threaded solution?

I actually just ran a tap in it, 9/16-12 works perfectly

i was surprised to see the HEX on the header EGR - all I'd ever seen previously had the connection that required an OE clamp. Was/is the HEX actually 'free spinning' and threaded?

They should sell 2 versions and save themselves time/money putting on at all, think about the numbers of cars 90-92 vs 93-95. They could probably not put it on at all for 80% of them.

Not free spinning but it is threaded

Why wouldn't you ID the thread and go for a threaded solution?Mine had no threads, inside or out. It was just a simple tube. Very odd.

The threads are on the ID of the coupler, not the tube

Not ODD at all - yours was a duplication of the OE and for use with '93+ you could with 'no issues'. See the image in post#11. I don't get the OBX thing. Maybe someone with a '93+ w/EGR might mention how they accomplished EGR function retention when using OBX.
Yours is what I'd have expected

I might have tried to ID the thread and use a mating male fitting of sorts.
I would have thought choosing the option of threading the ID of the tube a better choice could have been made. Your choice works for you so it 'matters NOT'!

I learned this from Marc Haibeck:
It uses a compression clamp (and special tool)
called a Oetiker clamp. #7 in above drawing.
Look it up!
Found it! Jerry's Gaskets (of course!)

zr1assassin: If you use the EGR system, its a compression connection
egr to nipple on exhaust. No threads, stock no nut.
