Hey guys getting ready to install a set of headers(on 92'), do you have to block off the EGR? If so what's everyone using for an EGR block off plate?

You don’t have EGR to worry about on MY 92. I believe only 93-95 MY does.

You’re welcome. There are some posts you’ll want to check out to help you out and make the mod go smoother. Good lessons learned here. Check with Paul Workman for oil dipstick bracket. There are thoughts about bolts to use and extensions or not for O2 sensors, etc. Dynomite (Cliff) will probably post his link to tips and tricks with how to. Best wishes.

I have to get the dipstick bracket and the O2 sensor extensions but I have header bolts, not ceramic coating them and the steering column interference can be handled with a hammer

I went with SW headers and exhaust. Only mod I needed to complete was to re - bend the oil dipstick tube and install O2 sensor extensions. You will, however, need to return to get your fuel maps correct.

You will, however, need to retune to get your fuel maps correct.

That part is important. Did headers on mine recently. Without cats it stunk to high heaven and backfired like crazy on deceleration. The retune eliminated the backfire, improved the stink (still there) and really improved power. I’m now adding cats back on.

If your not near a tuner that knows these cars (and they must know the LT5) I recommend Dom (xfirez51). He can do the process remotely specifically for your car, though time consuming. He did mine. The other option is Haibeck, good, fast but it’s a generic tune.
