Four ZR-1s today.

Not bragging, just trying to get things going here. It's kind of quiet.

It was a very nice 80 degrees. I washed three of them and applied Maguires 21 on one. Not why I'm posting...

In the shuffle of cars my wife takes one for a spin. She returns in 30 minutes from the 5 minute trip with a very large smile. After opening the door she says "I forgot how fun these cars are!"

Maybe there won't be one for sale this spring after all...

Ted

Wishful thinking.

I can't spell. Meguiars 21 is a synthetic sealant. Quite a shine.

Ted

Not my blue car today but previous result.

Florida isn't too far. Never know where we'll end up. Delta is a goal...

Wishful thinking.

Just think how you'll feel when Tenley says that!
Maybe not. It means she's getting older.

Nice job may have to give it a try been using Adam's sealer once a year.

Try using the Meguiars 21 or their NXT Generation, either one.

THEN..............................................

Use their real wax over it!!!

The wax won't remove or affect the sealant but it will provide another mile of deepness to the shine.

Repeat as often as you are bored and want to play with the car.

Please note:

I have 5 near new ZR-1's in the showroom and two more inbound, most with miles in the hundreds, just in case you or others want another!

I know a shameless plug, but what can I say.

Gee Ted,

You must have quite the wife! She knows how to drive the cars and in a way that they were meant to be driven!!!

You lucky guy you!

I have always used Meguiars and like their products. In the end, they all are probably good.

I am about to move to a synthetic sealer and am going to try Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0. Then, maybe I will take Marty's recommendation and put some real wax on as the topper.

I just needed something that lasted longer than carnauba. I don't have time to wax every other day.

I don't think any of us would mind if you posted some recent pictures of the cars, or at least of the finished detail job..???

It's not bragging. Post some pictures already. We are all picture hogs here.

Ted, Tenley may like the cars as much as I do. Also, Emmy (2) was helping me every step of the way in doing some paint restoration--a little too much. I took Tenley to the father-daughter dance Saturday in one.

Steve, I wish we were closer. I imagine we'd get in some trouble. I apply Meguiars 26 on the top of the sealant. That's what's in the picture. Look at the pine straw on the ground.

Marty, I always need just one more. I'd really like that purple one. One problem: out of my budget...I've been looking hard but that's competing with another desire...2013 ZR1.

Frank, what are you driving now?

Jeff, I'll try to get some pictures soon. I've been running like crazy. I think I'll try to do a portfolio for each.

Presently driving a Tahoe. The 94 A/B ZR1 is resting indoors waiting the winter out. The 94 is a stocker and we may have to tend to that shortly (are you reading this 390 Pete).
Also we are looking for another Buick may it be a Riv or Skylark/GS etc.

Wishing you and yours the best :saluting:

I've said it B4, but my BLACK 95 and the mile of gravel to my driveway put the 'kabosh' on carnuba forever!!

After switching to synthetic polymers...the difference in terms of maintenance was simply astounding! Compared to polymer (Zaino), carnuba was like covering the car with FLY PAPER!

I've not tried Meg's 21 sealant, but it looks like I might need to!

Synthetic is the way to go and doesn’t stain other plastic or rubber exterior pieces.

The old carnauba's are often touted for their deep gloss, wet look and warm glow, but today's synthetic's "are there", I think in duplicating all of this.

My old line of thinking would have considered it some kind of sacrilege to do synthetic wax on my special cars...something best left for a daily driver. Not anymore.

If I get wild and have the time, maybe carnauba over synthetic, but for the most part, my time is too valuable to spend the hours that I tend to do on a wax job, only for such short term longevity.

This is especially true if I have gone through the work of a compound and polish, too.

That may be true of many synthetics out there today, but it never used to. I have seen many wax jobs where it would have been better if they hadn't done anything at all. White wax residue in every paint chip, nook, cranny, and plastic piece....not good.
