Hi folks
there is a nice window to make sure we have weekend drag racing for the 2008 BG gathering. we are still planning on the Wed afternoon racing for this years gathering but need your support!!
anyway, some advanced planning for 2008 and beyond
Weekend dates:
> Sept 11-13, 2008
> Sept 10-12. 2009
> Sept 9-11, 2010
this would COMBINE our gathering with the Z06 club so we would be running with them at the drags. this makes it easier to come up with the minimum numbers to rent the track and an opportunity to run with them which to me will just add to the fun.
IMHO it's high time we got racing back on sat where it belongs, and this looks like me the best way to do it!!
please let me know what you think, and also please drum up support for this years wed racing. it's an important part of the gathering to let the beast howl.
keep the rpms and the shiney side up!!
Sept. 9-11 would be the best, because those of us that drive our car's can have some time on the road. But I'm up for anytime in that area.
Also the idea of inviting the GS-Callaway and ZO6's is a great idea. Bring it on :D :D
Ron, this is in addition to the October West gathering in Las Vegas?

Rod(nj) would go friggin nuts if the z06 guys goined along in his new ls7 beast.

I'd be happy with September as a general rule - one of my favourite times of year. That said though, 2008 would probably be out for me as I have a wedding to attend - mine!
And.. since I put it off this year to buy the ZR-1.. I think I owe her :D
You're all welcome to the come to the wedding though!

Have the wedding at the Gathering!!! Who could ask for more fun than honeymooning with us ZR1 guys. I'm sure your gal would appreciate that gesture. Another thing Dave is that you don't owe her - she should feel priviliged that she is marrying someone smart enough to buy a "Beast". And don't forget that 2008 is a looong way off. You might hop in the Beast this summer and go for that loaf of bread and never come back!!!

hey there,
Would having the BG event in September affect the Carlisle event or vise versa? If we do that we would have 2 events within 2 weeks?
Just thought I would put that out there
Thanks

So would this mean there is still a gathering in May for regular C4's? We just won't attend it? Or was the gathering really pretty much always the ZR-1 guys?
Whatever the plan is sounds fun, though I'd rather share track time with other C4's than a bunch of C5's and C6's. I dunno, watching them run doesn't do it for me.

hi guys,
Would it affect participation of having 2 huge Corvette Events within 2 weeks of each other?
Carlisle and the Gathering?
Would peole chose to go to one event and not the other?
This year I am helping Uly with managing the Carlisle event this year and think it is going to be one of the best yet...
GM has signed on to bring some RARELY seen ZR1 prototypes and other RARE Z's to the show, AND I have 6 confirmed Vendors that will give away HUGE prizes to people that bring their ZR1 to Carlisle.
I will give out Hotel* Details Monday and with "Mom's" help I will have a web page off our "zr1registry" site to highlight Carlisle Information by the End of Next week.
:hello: See you @ Carlisle!@!
