The '90 I got just a few weeks ago has a small oil leak. I knew it was there, but had no idea I would have so much trouble finding for sure where it is coming from. Doesn't leak hardly enough to worry about. About 2 drops hit the floor after driving it a lot or a little. Can start the car and just move it in the shop and you get the 2 drops.
Drips from the passenger rear side of the oil pan. Seems to be coming from the rear of engine up high. Have checked all the normal stuff. Oil lines, senders, pan bolts, etc.
I can see a little fresh oil between the middle intake runners on the drivers side, but none towards the front or rear. Nor the passenger side.
Think it may be something under the plenum?
If it is, why do I get the same 2 drops no matter how long I run it?
I am open to suggestions.
Thanks Guys !! :proud:

Oil pressure switch is my first guess. It's under the oil filter and hard to see. The switch itself will leak just a little where you are speaking of.Not to be confused with the oil pressure sensor. The switch is what lights the oil warning light, the sensor works the gauge.
Hope this helps.

The attached article will walk you through the usual oil leak suspects. Sounds like you may have a breather box leak under the plenum, however judging from your description it may be the stud for the passenger side exhaust manifold. Oil has a funny way of coming out at places that don’t necessarily correspond to where the leak actually is.
Good luck,

Thanks garyhugo & Ccmano !!
I checked the oil pressure switch under the filter. Not there.
From reading the article by Marc I am inclined to think I may have 2 leaks. I am going to check the bolts on the oil pressure regulator cover and the PVC grommet. They are in close proximity to where the oil might be coming from.
By the way, this forum is GREAT. Always get informative, knowledgable responses.
I REALLY APPRECIATE IT !!
Maybe I can return the favors sometime.
Thanks again.

Searching for leakages, personally I start with (proper) cleaning the engine. Searching for leakages is much easier then, it helps when you use a mirror and a torch, an videoscope can be handy too. And start it up...
