What an engine.....neat story.....thx for posting.....:)
Impressed ! That 11.7 to 1 compression ratio had better have a quick monitor on it to avoid big problems even with premium fuel.
Leave it to Mercury !!

Huh, wouldn't that be nice in the new ZR-1.

Had seen this as well. Great looking platform.. While we love our LT-5's, if we get to a point where we simply run out of options, it would be one heck of a new face for the ZR-1! What transmission options are out there I wonder.. Would need to figure out some revision to the C-beam or see if the ZFS6-40 could be seriously beefed up and mated to this new DOHC.. Interesting to think about..:)

Pretty cool. What's old is new again. Interesting ls1 coils (I remember Dom trying that out) and cam drive belts? Nice find Phil. GC

Amazing how compact the engine looks on the stand. Wonder what the price tag is?

While you're speaking of Mercury Racing engines, check out their 1750 horsepower QC4v unit. MR is real hush-hush about actual pricing on these, but I have read in a few spots that even the 1350 HP version costs over $200K. Would love to see what one of these would feel like in a C7.

Somehow I missed the actual "Mercury Racing" booth at SEMA a few weeks ago, but I did stop and make a quick vid of one in a custom bronco chassis. It's a nice piece and I can't believe it's actually shorter than a stock LS7.

There’s a video by MMR showing a speed boat doing 200mph on Lake Havasu
using the QC4V.
