Sure doesn't look too bad. I hope there's a chance it can "survive" to live some more.

Floods do a lot of hidden damage. Electronics get damaged and the damage may not show up for a while. Mold is potentially a problem. All fabrics should be replaced. Potential engine damage. Lots of issues. The flood salvage title will always show up on a Car Fax if it was reported by State Farm (don't know laws on this in Texas). If you are looking at a car from a flood area, always look up under the dash for water lines and mud as it is very difficult to get that cleaned out. If cheap enough maybe good for a racer. --Bob

The non-electronic parts will survive by getting parted out for other ZR-1s.

Got in, but requires me to go through a broker. Adds too much $$ to the transaction. Will have to pass. I'd be happy to purchase myself, but not through a broker.

True that. I like that color combo as well. I'm sure she will part out completely or make kickazz track car

Wow. It is sad to see that this car got caught up in the flooding. A '93 Z in Quasar Blue is a real unicorn. And as one of my preferred color combinations, such as a '93 Z in blue/gray or blue/light beige, I could look for a life time and not find that car. ....Especially if you start throwing in condition and mileage.

It is a sad reality that a person can go through the work of trying to preserve and take care of a car and then it gets totaled due to a flood, ...or another driver's carelessness, etc., etc.

Bob, or anyone chime in. How many Quasar Blue '93 Z's were there? Is it like 15???

Yup, a '93 Quasar Blue is a bit of a rare bird. There were seven made. I was always sad to have sold my '93 QB but it went to a very good home. Hope it is still running strong, QB93!--Bob

There are 7 QB 1993's. Only 2 have Black interior. I have one of those. Yes Bob, it is still running strong at 121,000 miles.

Or should I say there were 7....

Is there a 'buy it now' price on this car? Doesn't show much. I could put this car to good use !

From what Copart describes the ZR1 has been "Enhanced" n that's why it looks so good on the outside....but the inside .....?
With that title that Z will NEVER run on US roads
...only good for parts or racecar here.
But if you bring it to Cuba, Albania,Bulgaria.... etc..you get the picture !

Not how they work. I'm registered and will likely bid in the car, but it requires a broker since I don't think have the correct license. Adds about $800 to my cost..

Returns on these cars are averaging 30%, typically classics bring more, could see this one going 45-60% of ACV

Anybody know what the copart ZR-1 sold for ?

FYI, I maintain a dealers business liscense in case someone needs a broker to bid on one of these sites. I would charge like only $1-200 range.

Quite right on the Torx!
The ignition, the key and the key ring also show rust.

Agree, and there also looks to be salt water-type corrosion on the top of the plenum. I am guessing this car was completely submerged in the Houston flood. Maybe that's why the interior looks so clean. No visible water line as it was probably above the roof. I wonder what it smells like! --Bob

Quasar Blue or any other color...don't buy a "Flood Car".

Most cars with water damage serious enough to be called a flood car need significant replacements of wiring and electronics. On a 25-year old C4, that would be a herculean task, even if you could get the parts.

I totally agree !! Years ago before better records were kept I would accidently get ahold of a "wet" car through an auction.
Believe me, you will NEVER get finished working on it.

These were not salt water floods.....most got buried.....we totaled about 1K cars with my company. Sand was worse...salt, salt, salt

Most of these ended up bringing 28-30% of ACV

You also DONT want to know what was in that water. All my workers returning from the ACOE working in the flood fight came back with some real horror stories from Harvey and Irma. Just basically everything you would expect to find in a natural disaster. Bodies, Carcasses, Feces, Chemicals oh yeah and water.

You will never be able to sort out a flood car unless you have a lot of time and a lot of money and a worthless title.

It makes me very sad to see this. I believe this happened this last fall when the Naples area of Florida was hit. It was the pride of someone on this forum for many years.

That was in Marco Island. I was there right after Irma hit. Does make you wonder who would leave their pride and joy out in the elements during a hurricane.

I still think that there was something wrong with that car, and the owner either could not move it or preferred to file an insurance claim rather than completing the work.

If you expand the image, you can see that the fuel filler door is missing and the rear wheel looks like an early C4 wheel (84-87 style). I don't know for sure that the car had issues, so not accusing the owner of anything with this post, but it does make me wonder about it's condition before the storm.
