You are aware of the spillage issues with the replacement cylinders? Check over at zfdoc.com for the scoop on the sitrep.
GM says that delivery will be mid summer on the new "corrected" production run.
Bill, aka zfdoc, offers a correction service on any new slave you buy. Send it to him & he will put the seal in correctly....for a fee naturally. That task isn't as easy as it seems. Getting the seal out is not the hard part. It's getting it back in correctly and not tearing the micro-ridges on it that's the hard part....ask me how I know:rolleyes:  :o
If you find a slave out there it maybe from the old run and it may have any individual defect or combination of defects:
seal installed backwards = all
bore runout
bore porosity
bad welds @ line fittings
bad bore finish hone
metal fragments in new unit
Also I would suggest reading the FAQ over at zfdoc.com for the skinny on our hyd sys because Bill has made a point to provide an education for us on this subject....he says most of the zf's he rebuilds have damage caused by bad hyd system performance. He suggests that if all your stuff is old and or OEM that you do the master + line + slave the first time 'round. On a 90 the line will come up NLA @ the dealer...just use the 91 & up line...oh yea, same thing for the slave @ the dealer. The 90 slave & line were superceeded by the 91 & up stuff....same stuff just the newer slave has the bleeder in a diff spot where it is useless for bleeding the system! The hose has been changed from metal + rubber combo to a metal + s/s braided combo. Some dealers don't see the note about the new applications, mine missed it & told me the 90 slave & hose was NLA! I had to do some research to find the superceeded numbers.
