I took my 1991 out for 200 mile trip and filled up right before arriving home. It ran great the whole way but was way low on fuel when filled up and only had less than a mile to the house. Started bucking as I pulled in. Now it will turn over, go up to to 2000 rpms and then die as if starved. I am guessing that there was some trash in bottom of tank after 26 years. I usually don't get below 1/4 tank before filling up. Any suggestions on how to correct if that is the problem? Maybe bad tank of gas? (Have completed all of the necessary replacements in the past i.e. fuel injectors, coil packs, fuel pumps, spark plug wires, alternator, new battery, etc.)

These cars need to be kept above the halway mark at all times if possible . If below half I have been told the fuel pumps dont like it and can burn out . Your pump may be the issue or crud got threw the lines . I would remove the fuel filter first and then ohm out the pump . Be careful . Its under pressure so loosen connections slowly or release pressure at fuel fill area .
Good luck ...

Hal sounds like primary fuel pump failure. Plug in your fuel jumper. If it runs bingo. If I remember correctly you bought one from me

On my 91, both FP's run during cold start, FP2 shuts off around 130 or 160. If it will cold start, but die when warm, replace the FP's. I bought some cheap 340lph pumps, in the 50k+ miles I've owned her, she's never run so strong! Regarding the fuel filter, I couldn't blow threw mine at all, however it did nothing for my problems.
Do you have fire-in-the-wire?
