Sorry to hear this. Unfortunately there will be more. There are still areas that you cannot reach except by boat.. if this was Tuesday/Wednesday, I expect this is in the Beaumont area or near Buffalo Bayou or the Brazos River.. these are are still flooded..

As I write this I'm sitting on top of a mountain in North Carolina waiting for that bitch Irma to trash the state of Florida so that we can go back home and see what's left.
The ZR-1 was left behind in a locked garage on high ground. But It looked pretty bad with talk of winds over 200mph and our place was smack dab in the middle of it's projected path. Now the path has been pushed to the west, and the winds have slowed a little.
All that could change quickly, but for now we're going to raise a glass of beer to the ZR-1 guys in Tampa, and all the Floridians who are hunkered down waiting for this to pass.
Stay safe and dry.

Having just "weathered" Harvey, I too pray that Irma dies down quickly, damages are minimal and no one is injured or killed as a result of this storm.

Here's to all of our ZR-1 family in Florida..🍻🍻

What's special about the yellow 94/95's
Nothing really, just that the last 3 ZR-1s off the line at Bowling Green were Yellow.
49 of the 448 95's were Yellow and 196 of the 6922 cars built(Registry numbers) over the 6 model years were yellow.(Car&Driver says 6939 were built).
There is a picture of 2 or 3 of these cars together just after coming off the assembly line that I have seen

All the LT5s were built by 1993 and "banked" at Bowling Green until the last few years of the ZR-1 were built.

Wow. I knew it was a cool color but I didn't know so few were made. Lucky me.

Sad to hear people suffering from Harvey.

Irma was kinds to us -- no damage, just tons of debris.

Best not to stay in house that was flooded. Mold!

Very sad.

However, even more so, since it states the car was uninsured at the time of the loss.

I speak to many owners, and hear far too many who say they are not driving it, so why insure it?

These are smart people, and they have the money, but they just don't want to spend it for something they "think" they can live without.

The moral to the story is keep these cars insured, and insured for their replacement value!

Again, sad to hear of the losses these people are suffering.

I'm not sure about other states, but in FL, you need to show proof of insurance to register a car. And you need to register a car if it's kept on your property.

I have both of my Zs insured through Hagerty for a very, very reasonable cost.

Agree....Don't know if a car less than 25 years old qualifies for classic ins....Even if it didn't ,you can still get a limited use policy from I believe one of the classic car insurers....

My Z is a 91 and its insured for 25,000 dollars......I believe my payment is around 150 dollars for the year.....Sure there are stipulations , mileage, garage, not your primary vehicle, and I qualify for all that....

Especially if you live in hurricane prone areas.....Keep insurance on your auto...

You can put "classic" or actually Collectors insurance on a 2018!
It's the usage, not the age.
Yes, do it all the time.

The last 3 ZR-1's were all bought by the same person for gifts for his executives.

Each state has a minimum required auto insurance to cover you
for what you did to someone/something else in an accident.
I looked it up and in Fla its:
Required Coverages
Florida’s Financial Responsibility law requires you to maintain liability limits of at least:

$10,000 for bodily injury to or death of one (1) person in any one (1) accident
$20,000 for bodily injury to or death of two (2) or more persons in any one (1) accident, subject to the $10,000 per person limit
$10,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others in an accident
Such coverage is often written as 10/20/10 or 10,000/20,000/10,000

So you don't HAVE to insure the value of your car.
I'm NOT an insurance agent

Curious as to the insurance amount of $150 for the year with Hagerty. Our 90 and 91 with them run $500 each. One insured for 30 and the other 15k. Expected use per year is 500 miles.

Just to clarify, the 3 yellow cars were not the "last" ZR-1s. The last ZR-1 (1995 - #448) produced was Red and is a part of the Corvette Museum inventory today. The 3 yellow cars were #445, #446, & #447 and are only "last" in that they were the last ZR-1s that went to customers.

Contact your insurance agent. Mine was able to meet the very low price of collector car insurance and give me an agreed upon value. They can do this if your car is 25 years old. Just have to ask. My rates went from $800/year to $250/year and with the bonus of agreed upon value

Clarified thanks! They were not the last 3 ZR-1s from Bowling Green.

They were the last 3 yellow ZR-1s to roll off the line, in addition to being as you state, the last 3 sold to the public.

Thanks
