In doing a search I saw that there were two types press kits that were released for the 89 ZR1s. Does anyone know which cars received which press kit? Thanks in advance.

You mean the white box with the slides in it?

Yes! There's that one and another that's just a folder that is not as complete as the one with the slides. I was wondering what the reasoning was behind this and which one I should try to get. Here is the link to the thread that shows the two press kits. http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=25351&highlight=press+kit

They very, if you can afford a ZR-1 Prototype, special price for you $10K

Seriously around $100-200 depending if they have everything

I know they have two different sizes, I think contents are the same

The press kits were not associated with any specific cars ... apparently a batch were made to present to the press at the Geneva unveiling in March (?) 1989. The remainder began to show up later, specifically at the 1995 Legend Lives event at the NCM in April 1995. Two were auctioned ... Phil DeJohn bought one and I bought the other one. I have a photo with mine being signed by Dave MeLellan with the yellow 1989 "first saleable ZR-1" in the background. More kits began to surface at later NCM gatherings. How many were produced ? Who knows. Mine is the folder in a sleeve design.
I guess the sleeves and folders were separated at some later time because I've seen them sold as pieces too.

I saw that and have been speaking with him. He said that it has everything except for the slides. He has an owners book too which looks like a pretty cool item.

There is a photo on line of an orginal press kit, they came in a box with a red ribbon and a C4 emblem as a bow....
