No, we did not......we came in third this year...very tight competition as it was the Anniversary for 1967 and from what I understand a club associated with some 67 owners had a very good turn out....which I think took First place!!!

Before I continue with some Carlisle news, as has been mentioned in other threads and posts about the unfortunate storm that is devastating parts of Texas, that our thoughts and prayers go out and are with the people who are affected from the extreme difficulties that they are experiencing. I am sure that we all hope and pray that everyone comes out of this (as they used to say) "safe & sound" :angel12:

Once again Carlisle was amazing, we all had a great time. Was a real pleasure to meet new members and non-members alike. And definitely great to see everyone again especially members who you only have the opportunity to see once a year.
I have well over 100 pics from the event, but will not be posting them at this time. We will be doing a featured article in the next edition of HOTB for the Fall.
That article will probably be 300 plus pages, with 4,263 paragraphs and 9,860 sentence's, not to mention all of the pics and punctuation marks need to complete the story....whew, this is going to be some undertaking......lol....

But in the meantime, I will post just a few more to give you a sneak peak of the event....

And after the HOTB is published I will post all of the remaining pics that I have here in this thread.....so stay tuned.....

This was my first trip to Carlisle. It was a bucket list item for me and I will be going back now on an annual basis! I had more fun this past weekend than I ever could have imagined. It's such a well run event with something for everyone! I'm still trying to convert my wife into becoming a corvette enthusiast, but even she had a great time. Most importantly, the members of the registry were the nicest group of people I have ever met. My wife and I had never been to a registry event before and everyone was so friendly and made us feel welcome. Hope to see everyone soon.

Hopefully most of you have seen the latest issue of the HOTB that was just released. In addition to the great articles and all of the pics published, I have more pics to add for your viewing pleasure. I will try not to duplicate pics already in the HOTB, but a few may be in here too. I will post 4 to 6 pics per posts as I shot a lot of pics. You will notice that besides ZR-1's I also took quite a few pics of the BB's that were on the Fairgrounds as I will be suing them on my FB BBC page. It was also the anniversary for 1967. And also the 30th anniversary for Callaway, which 3 were in our Group. A lot of great looking Corvettes on hand to shoot along with the members of the Registry and people in general. So here they are, hope you enjoy them as much as I did photographing them.......:)

Al Knoch Interiors is there each year with his trailer and does installations by previous appointments.....always busy.....
The swap isles are not what they used to be....although vendors are abundant...there was a time when the isles were jammed packed almost shoulder to shoulder room only.....how times have changed with the internet....as now some of the big stores take few parts and setup a virtual store to take orders.....
The license plate vendor who is also here each year and what a selection he has to offer.....
Actually the open areas are a plus as it gives you breathing room to check everything out....

And the Friday night Pizza party right outside the gate given by Adam's Polishes each year......free pizza.....wine....beer....and soft drinks.....and prize giveaways make for a fun evening and the weather was perfect....

This next group of pics were taken from the hotel parking lot where many of us stayed......this was a very rare opportunity to have a group of ZR-1's line up for photos outside of Carlisle.....the setting was perfect.....we started out with 6 and when the others arrived we had 9 ZR-1's line up just right.....and the night shots were phenomenal to say the least.....with some photo shop on some....you do have the perfect pic.....

The group in the foodcourt where I got my ham and cheese.....very friendly and were eager to pose for some pics.....great bunch of people....
Of course I had to sneak in a pic of my 94.....I just have to ham it up....lol
And I got elected as the lead Z to and from the hotel and back on the daily commute. If you look closely in my rearview.....you will see the line of Z's we had on the pike....if only I had a mobile camera....it would have been a great video....maybe next year....

Our dinner Saturday night on the outskirts of Harrisburg.....planned by Darrin.....excellent food and company.....of course....
And I don't do pics....I just take them.....lol this was one of the few I had everyone pose for.....lol and then of course the action shot....lol

Mark and Dennis were already there and were ready to roll so they could get an early start......John, Matt, Dillon and Jack arrived after and the cleanup was completed.....
Not the end of the trail so to speak, as these Corvettes were either sold and headed to their new owners.....or going back to the dealers from which they arrived.....
Well there you have it.....another Carlisle attended and fun had by all....hope to see everyone and more back next year....

Yeah, well what amazes me was for some time Kevin Costello DD'ed his 10.3x second ZR-1 to work in Chicago traffic! THAT is quite a trick - especially for a NA motor!:cheers:

My daughter is getting married (3 times = the charm?) and I'll prolly miss the MR6. (BUMMER...) But! Carlisle 2018 is on my calendar for next year! Ami' is coming too - don't know if we'll bring both cars yet or not, but we'll see.:dancing

Heck, I drive it to work (as long as it's not raining).

I always drove both of mine if the sun was shining and the snow wasn't flying. With the new Z06 I can even drive it in the rain! The BMW has been up on the lift since my road trip that began in Bowling Green at the Gathering and only came down this week for some needed work. Have used the Z06 as a DD the whole time. Not to hijack this thread, of course! --Bob
