What we need is a bell housing to adapt our LT5's to the new 10 speed! Imagine going down the track holding rpm's between 6 & 7000 rpm!

It's Called speed shifting[emoji15] if you don't have a rev limiter, you better be very good or bye bye LT5...

I think a conversion to a modern paddle shift transaxle would be amazing, it would be quite a project but could you imagine an LT-5 with extra gears and millisecond shifts!
When I did my first auto install back in 2004. I just used a reg 4l60E trans
just like they had in reg. C4 's. I Installed a stock 4l60E used stock c-beam and drive shaft from a reg C4 it all fit.the only thing I needed was a 8-bolt hole flex plate (made by Pete FBI land ). So i did not need a special bell housing. Found a company called twist machine who made a paddle shift
system for the 4l60E around 2004-2006 . This system worked very well with the 4l60E trans. I used a transmission controller from TCI The twist machine
paddle shifted plugged into the TCI control box. To use paddle shift you turned
on the paddle shift mode and pulled the right paddle to up shift and to down
shift puled the left paddle. When they were made there was no way telling what gear you were in. Later models came with a display that shows what gear you
are in.When i started to drag race the trans would not shift up quick enough
The reason is the 4l60E used what they call stacked shifts , electronics back
then were not as fast as they are now. I gave up on paddle shifting while
drag racing. By 2009 i switched to a heavy duty 4l80E from a 1/2 ton truck
still no paddle shift, but the new controller shifts at wot at what ever rpm i
set in the comushift controller ,right now it shifts at 7000 rpm at wot .
Now i do not have a bell housing as i use the stock 4l80E trans as i came
from the factory and a modified flex made by (Pete FBI group) since 2004
still working great . The 4l60E and 4l80E trans bolts right up to the LT5 block. all the bolts are used for one the hole on the right side of block
(looking at the rear of motor) upper right by the the ground wires.
The transmission bolts up using 5 org bolts, don't need 6 as the c-beam holds it all together .
