Horn not working and I have checked fuses, relay, et. checked ok. I remember a thread that addressed removing the horn buttons from the steering wheel without breaking them to check the contacts but I cannot seem to find the thread. I hate working with trim and plastic pieces so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is also a clock spring inside the steering wheel column that can go bad. A good Corvette salvage yard could pull one for you. Unless you are a professional, the airbag removal to get to it should be farmed out.
And/or
Once you remove the two buttons, you might find a broken piece of plastic that makes the contact. That can be easily glued back on with Superglue.
After all that you won't be so liberal in using the horn... [emoji6]

Or buy used horn buttons.

I have replaced an air bag on another car. Disconnected the battery, let it sit for about an hour, remove and replace is what I did.

Another ommon problem is the plastic horn wire onnection behind the wheel breaks and you find the hornbutton wire loose behind the airbag. The wire from the horn buttons on the steeringwheel is a male that goes in to a ¼” tube from the column. Remove the airbag and have a look . On mine the column piece that was cracked.
