Could someone steer me in the direction of where to obtain a set of c Beam plates please. After reading an earlier post on what they do and how they work, l would like to install them on my car. Thanks in advance.

I've got them on my red Z and it will still get wild if you really jump down on it.
Russell don't expect too much help from the beam plates.
I think you know what I'm talking about.

I have the C4 Beam Plates on ALL ZR1s
I have removed several C4 Beams and All of them had depressions where the much smaller washer were individually used on each of two C4 Beam Bolts (Transmission and Differential End of C4 Beam) resulting in a much more concentrated bearing surface with a much more concentrated load on the Transmission and Differential C4 Beam Bearing Surfaces. This in of itself caused loosening of the C4 Beam Grip on the Transmission and Differential.
Secondly....loosening and installing the Two C4 Beam Bolts on the Transmission and Differential End of the C4 Beam Plate is much easier accomplished using the Captured Nuts on the Top C4 Beam Plates (both captured nuts on one single C4 Beam Plate). There is a Top and Bottom C4 Beam Plate for the Transmission End and Differential End of the C4 Beam.

Yes l do. I'll be showing a little more respect for the car and spend a bit more time getting to know it.
I would like to get and install the Beam plates anyway, as l do drive aggressively sometimes, so they may help.

Just ordered a set myself. Wouldn't have a Z without them. Just email Bill and he will send you a PayPal invoice.
Email address is billb@zfdoc.com

Judging from your user id Ozruss90 and this mentioned by you, Location: Austalia, I took that to assume you're in Australia and if I'm understanding this to be correct I'd be tempted to maybe fabricate my own. The payment, the wait and the ship might maybe make this a viable option. I guess it would depend upon either your fabrication skills or the the skills of maybe an acquaintance.
Much might depend maybe on the "wait" time.

<snip> I'd be tempted to maybe fabricate my own.I've wondered about this, too. Do you think it'd be fairly easy? They're basically just captured nuts on the top said where it's hard to reach with a wrench?

They also come with measuring templates and instructions to properly position the C Beam relative to the body.

The C4 Beam Plates are made of 302 stainless steel TIG welded with self locking captured nuts.
The plates are stiffened with Stainless Steel bars.

I considered what I thought to be the OP's location and potential for THE WAIT!! There's duties and associated fees I believe that maybe makes the fabrication I'd think very practical. Best I recall from years ago (many) these weren't generally "on the shelf" and ready to ship!!

Your correct that I am in Australia and there would be a wait period. I'm ok with that, as it's not stopping the car from being driven. As for the price, l don't know what that will be as l haven't had a reply back yet from Bill. The price of the Beam plates, plus the currency difference, plus the shipping. It is what it is, and the car will always cost me money. I've never seen these plates before so a bit hard to manufacture without ever seeing them.
I have asked the question to Bill if there is any outlet in Australia that sells them on his behalf. Haven't heard back yet. Maybe there's an opportunity as there are plenty of C4s down under. Perhaps I could order 10 sets, sell the other 9 at cost plus a little to cover all freight costs....👍🇦🇺

Sell them for twice cost. That will cover freight, the cost of yours, plus there will be two that you can't sell and you'll end up eating those.

Unless you have had these C4 Beam Plates in hand......you cannot appreciate the quality of the design. I have had six sets shipped from ZFdoc which I installed on five ZR1s and one 1990 with L98 (ZF S6-40 Transmission). All perfectly fabricated, identical, and fast shipment. Highly Recommended
Besides, I do not have a TIG welder and would have to spend a lot of time running around for 302 Stainless Plate, Cutting the Plate, Cutting the Bars, finding the Nuts and Washers, TIG Welding and then all that just for one set.

Since your comment seemed to be directed towards me .. you quoted my post# 15,

it hints that you suspect I know nothing of these! I happen to have had "hands on experience" - a pair "on the shelf" - that I'm somewhat confident are a fabrication by "other than Bill" OR these were very early by Bill and different.
The only person that could confirm maybe that these are "early" might likely be Curtis Ward who I believe had very early experience and maybe the prototypes in his hands still.
Could I provide you a "time stamped snapshot"? Sure - but I ain't gonna.
I still stand by my suggestion for the OP to look into fabrication "local"
They aren't what I'd consider an "engineering masterpiece" - an interesting and functional fabrication? Certainly.
I'd think there's many others that have creations that are very similar. Was there ever a "patent"? A Registered Trademark?
What to do when you can't put a "hands on quickly"?

FYI. I have ordered the Beam plates through Bill at zfdoc. Got a fast response from him via email. Parts on the shelf and ready to ship. I'll have them here in Australia in 6 - 10 days. I'm happy with that.
Didn't want to create any conflict about manufacturing a part v purchasing a part. Sometimes I'm happy to fix, or make a part if I can. Otherwise I'm happy to buy it from someone else. Hey. That's what makes to world go around.

it hints that you suspect I know nothing of these!Dynomite's suspicions might have been in response to my post, not yours (a guess), and he would have been correct. I personally have not seen the plates (only the pictures), so I was probably assuming they were much simpler pieces than they are, and wouldn't be too difficult to make.
I am kind of an amateur (amateurish?) fabricator, so my first inclination is always, can I make it myself? (knowing that if I made some they wouldn't be as nice as Bill's).
Just thought I'd post this thought in case it helps clear the air a bit. I appreciate all the constructive posts here in ZR1.net.

Suspicions???? None.......
Amateur......NO...you (RussMcB) are NOT an Amateur when it comes to the ZR-1
And.......WVZR-1 is one of the best for parts information I have ever known :handshak:
And....WVZR-1 knows the Manuals inside and out.....That is my Suspicion ;)
Have fun guys...........:handshak::handshak:
Oh......The Top C4 Beam Plates (ZFdoc) are a little complex in that the Nuts are NOT welded in place but captured and free floating (not allowed to turn). The Bottom C4 Beam Plates are shown here. I have NOT seen any photos of other C4 Beam Plates having that feature. This allows the C4 Beam Bolts to self align without any additional stress from tipping or lateral movement of the two Self Locking Nuts. A very Creative Design from other Load Distribution Designs (C4 Beam Clamping) I have seen

There are a Hand Full of Modifications I do to Every ZR-1/LT5 and C4 Corvette (L98). Adding the C4 Beam Plates by ZFdoc is one of those Modifications

I've used the beam plates and for a small chunk of metal they do pretty good. Plus bill is a great engineer and has personally helped me a lot. Anyway try em out. If you can group buy bill will save ya a few $👍

I have them on all my C4s. IMHO, Bill's (ZFDOC) are worth every penny. I could cut out something flat and weld nuts on it, but Bill's are much more than that. The 302 stainless is reinforced to make sure the C-Beam remains stiff. Bottom line - they work to tighten up your handling. We just installed a set 2 weeks ago from ZFDOC on a friend's C4 race car we're prepping for the 2018 vintage sprint series.
The only person that could confirm maybe that these are "early" might likely be Curtis Ward
My guess is that Curtis had his set made by Corey Henderson - another fabrication master. Corey did everything to Curtis' 91 ZR-1, prepping it to run over 200 MPH in the BBORR back in ~2000.
Highly Recommend beam plates from Bill Boudreau (ZFDOC).

Mark
