I just got a message from Photobucket that some of the free features have been disabled but would be restored should I choose to pay the $2.50 monthly fee. I'll get as many of my pictures as I can and then I'll delete my account.

Bad business move on their part. Unfortunately this may really screw up Dynomites very valuable Solutions threads.
I changed to TinyPic.com, seems to word well on the iPad.

Are a lot of the pictures linked to by solutions via someone else's post be in jeopardy?

Sometimes posts linked to in Solutions have photos lost for any number of reasons. Those links sometimes rely heavily on the photos and some do not rely heavily on the photos. If I find a linked post in Solutions that has lost credibility because of missing photos I will delete those links........ Or look for a similar post offering better information. I have deleted some links in Solutions wherein better more specific information has been found in more recent links.

We in rural South Dakota do not use the term "suck it"......we use "Stick It" :D
In CA......especially San Fran........OH....I will not get into that :sign10:
On another topic but related to this thread........Some (as I do myself) organize a Thread with multiple posts........but in so doing, linking to any one post within that thread depends on the thread organization remaining constant (no posts deleted or repositioned). On CF for example A sticky I have showing multiple topics prolly should be reorganized but then many posts linked to from other threads would be lost. It gets a bit complicated.

I am paying for some additional space (Plus 20 plan).........but not nearly $399 which is the Plus 500 plan. I do not know what you have going on but 500 GB is ten times my cell phone storage capability regarding photos of which I have currently less than 2.5GB of photos which is many photos. The plus 20 plan offers storage comparable to my cell phone storage.

Yeah that's what they quoted me in my email because of how much 3rd party hosting I do. (Basically any picture in any forum) poor business move are my thoughts and the program was always buggy with me and always went in a frames view and would not work properly. So now I'm workin with Imgur

I have 2.3 GB of photos on my computer and cell phone which are ALL on Photobucket associated with ZR-1s. All those photos on Photobucket are all resized either 800, 600, or 400 width (the original and the resized both reside on Photobucket). I am at 24% of my total available storage capacity on Photobucket (the Plus 20 Plan). I think the Plus 20 plan offers some 30 GB storage.
I have no clue what 3rd party hosting is (but I can post any picture in any forum and in any size) but I like 800 and 400 width because two 400s fit nicely under one 800. And I often use Paint before I upload photos to Photobucket where I alter the photo using Paint with Notes and Arrows.
The Plus 20 program costs me $2 or $3 a month which is very reasonable.
I have no issues with Photobucket or my ZR-1s

Dynomite, if it hasn't been said lately, I want thank you for the hard work you have done and continue to do to manage the technical archives of this and the other forum. Without this valuable information at our finger tips I suspect many of us would not have chosen the ZR-1 as a hobby. Mainztaining and repairing our cars would be nightmare to all but the most competent wrenches.
Please accept my sincerest thanks!

Thank you Hans :handshak:
I enjoy wrenching as much as driving and appreciate the many technical contributions provided by the like minded members of both forums :thumbsup:
Dynomite , I'd also like to agree Hans on his statements. Your work has been very well appreciated. And thank you :handshak:

AOL did this to me also. They discontinued my desktop software and said it would no longer work after a certain date unless I paid $4 or so a month. It annoyed me, as I have been a user since they began (sometime around the Civil War I think). They were good to their word--it no longer works on my computer. But before it was cut off I switched everything to Gmail. Gmail has a nifty utility that automatically transfers all your contacts and old emails, and keeps receiving AOL emails on Gmail for 30 days. Worked like a charm. I use AOL on my phone only to see if I missed anyone and to leave all the unwanted emails with AOL. I'll eventually drop that app. Maybe there is a photo service that has a similar transfer service. Personally I keep all my photos on my computer (well backed up elsewhere) and just post them when needed.--Bob
