I think it is available.. I was told $2000-$2500 for the ECM.. BUT:
Dashboard Trip Computer, Due to a lack of documentation on the technology used on this control system, functionality of the original trip computer is disabled and an occasional "SYS" fault indicator will be displayed.

I'm not throwing shade at th MegaSquirt. After all, Graham Behan has used it in order to run the next gen LT5 he assembled. However, IMO, for a stock LT5, or for even fairly modified ones, the stock ECM works just fine. And $1000<$2500
+ programming.

Actually the price quoted for the used unit is actually a pretty fair price. Normally these only become available with a ZR-1 part out and then usually they go with the engine. The NOS units are long gone. Another option is to have your defective unit rebuilt but that is not always successful. I also wont cast Shade at the Mega Squirt unit either and I am glad somebody is working another solution for the C4 ZR-1. However 1k vs. 2.5K unless I was planning on going to a twin turbo setup or some intense engine management profile etc. IMHO is a no brainer. In addition, I don't like the issues that -=JEFF=- pointed out with the integration. A flashing sys would annoy me real fast. GC

There is a LT5 specific megasquirt unit. I have one on my workbench.

And for the price I was told you would think they could fix the Sys light and get the mileage working

And for the price I was told you would think they could fix the Sys light and get the mileage workingNot me. I've heard the hassles they've been through to try an find a way to get that stuff working. They hunted down some original GM/Lotus documentation last year, but, very disappointing to them, it didn't have the information they need. They very much want it to work. They've borrowed a few of our cars and spent some time with them, but ...
Think about the effort it would take to reverse engineer machine data for a handful of computers they might sell. Probably a lot of tedious trial and error testing. If it were your company, would you devote resources to it? Or rather towards other engines with large, growing markets? Think about the ROI.
I know I'm not a typical ZR-1 owner, but I never even think about the functions that don't work with my MS3 Pro. I have to stop and think to remember exactly what I'm missing. My current MPG? Miles to go before I need to get gas? Not important to me. I just like enjoying the performance of the car (which is noticeably higher than when it had a stock ECU with chip).
Oh, and I don't have any Sys lights. Only an occasional tire pressure warning (I don't have sensors in my wheels), but it isn't lit 95+% of the time.
Just remembered something else. The big double harness plugs that are in the back of our computers? They are NLA. That means they have to get them from parts cars (I think one other Buick/Olds series from the 90's uses them).
There have been, and will be, some ZR-1 owners pretty happy about the availability of a new $2,000+ plug in computer, especially with the added tuning advantages offered by 2017 technology.

This is HUGE.. meaning, the Current MPG, while nice I don't need, but like GC Said the SYS light can be annoying. I am glad the SYS light is not there..
Last email I have is Sept of 2016. still it is not officially released as far as I know, but it can be purchased.
I was told between $2000-$2500 for a unit, if you use a 58x Trigger wheel you can remove the OEM ignition module and run LS coils

Jeff,
Did u confirm that the base config of the MS unit also includes running CnP? My understanding is that additional modules are necessary.

Jeff,

Info from an email conversation I had with DIYautotune last year:
Yes, it uses the OEM ignition module - although it also gives you the option to bypass it with some rewiring.
Yes, it will allow you to replace the factory ignition system. You want a 58X crank trigger with a set of LS1 coils on the valve covers, the MSPNP Pro will do that.
You can view a full list of MSPNP Pro features here.
http://www.ms3pro.com/mspnp-pro.html#
About the only thing that won't work like stock (besides being able to retune the ECU with a laptop) is going to be some emissions control things, as this is a race ECU. And the valet key will instead work to switch fuel and spark tables. The staged injection will normally work like stock, but with some rewiring you can make the secondaries transition gradually to avoid any jerkiness when the secondaries come on.
