Where do I get the little bitty light bulb that illuminates the electric window switches? It removes from the body of the switch with a tiny screwdriver. It is a yellowish orange color. Burnt out. I am type A and enjoy victory over the small things too.

If possible see if there is still a legible part number on the bulb. Then check the parts stores, etc. I have never seen any listed for that application.

My parts book says 10148011:

Thanks so much. Part number is accurate for complete switch assembly. The itty bitty bulb is not a separate part number. Maybe I can find one at Carlisle. A 1,600 mile road trip for a $1.60 part makes sense to me![emoji41]

"BlackZR1" posted correct information for "just bulb".

My parts book says 10148011:

This is the bulb only!

OP - I've never attempted to match the bulb/socket and I've only ever seen it referenced to a Stanley #

If you've the bulb/socket removed presently I'd try to compare dimensions to a T3, T4. Dimensions are in the link.

http://www.autolumination.com/74.htm

Easier to read dimensions

https://www.ebay.com/p/?iid=382069402972&&&chn=ps

Many years ago I did several switch back-lighting projects for other than Corvette projects that used some Pontiac/Olds/Buick lighting. I believe I actually sourced most of the project using MOPAR.

This is from a later C4 FSM - Bulb charts are in the 8B & 8C sections of the FSM. The Stanley reference information is there also.

Now we are on to something with the auto illumination link. I will continue with updates. I will get some extras to share!

It's a Sylvania Size 74. I have replaced them many times before. However just reading the thread above it appears WV has you in the right direction. GC

Gentlemen 74 is not the bulb. Open the link of BlackZR1. The black and orange is the bulb. But 10148011 is the part number for the door switch assembly that contains the bulb. GM does not have a part number for the bulb itself. WVZR1 is on track with the T3 or T5. Anyone have a source?

I posted an insert from the FSM documenting the part# that was posted. I can confirm the part # in "larger font" if you need from several GM SPO publications. I mentioned "if you have bulb in hand to compare dimensions to the T3 and T4" - I wasn't "on track" - you're the guy with the bulb/socket in hand.

It ain't a #74

here's an entry from SPO - switches and LAMP/BULB in same parts group!

74 is the size for the door lock bezel night glow and the under mirror light. I just pulled the bulbs from spare switches in my parts crib. You are correct they are not a size 74. I have never seen those small orange bulbs at a car parts store before. Sorry I could not be much more help apparently I've replaced every blub inside but those. Let us know if you come up with a solution it looks like $25 is the going rate from KW Racing.

I cited your post #6 in -Solutions- Under Post #3 ZR-1 Electronics earlier......

so when you guys get the part number/source figured out........edit your Post #6 here......as that post seems to have the most technical information :handshak:

#6 is from a later FSM - #11 is from SPO with part#'s also for switches through '93 which is the last paper production of SPO.

Happened to be in Walmart, and picked up a #74 anyway, even though it has been mentioned that it is not correct.
Has new packaging and shows a color chip on the RS...
It appears to be a very yelllowish white shade...6200

I thought I had a LH switch panel with switches and I stumbled upon it today.

The window switch takes a pair of what is a T3 base with a height that differs from the links that I posted but a very clever person could use miniature bulbs with a wire terminal and salvage the base.

The mirror appears to be a T4 base and a very clever person could use a bulb with wire terminal to do a repair.

A T3 LED of some color would likely work but I doubt a color match possible and then to how to determine the brightness. I don't use and have no interest in LED for anything automotive that ain't OE.

I just bought this part from GM PARTSGIANT. The bulb was $14 +shipping. I have no idea what I bought if the bulb isn't separate from the switch.

OP - Where did you disappear to?

You've got a non-working so you can disassemble risking no loss at all. The amber filter is flexible and I've found some of my older work and believe there are very inexpensive solutions. I'm not un-wiring mine!

http://www.jkllamps.com/pdfs/CNW1_MULTI_LISTING.pdf

I'd shop either a T1 or T1 1/4 wire terminal and try a re-wire and the old amber filter. If a T1 1/4 would work I believe that Bulb Town has a filter also. No filter for the T1.

Me the OP just ordered T3 Neowedge bulbs on EBay. A four pack of what appears incadesense bulbs for five bucks. I can reuse the little condom like orange filter. I will report back when they arrive in a week.

OP. It is indeed a T3 NeoWedge bulb. I purchased from a generic vendor on EBAY. Four bulbs for 5 dollars.
