I just received my quarterly issue of Hagerty Magazine:

http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd335/tf95ZR-1/HagertyZR-1.5.2.17_zpss9wtuotw.jpg

What a surprise! Inside there is a 12 page article about the ZR-1 including
it's history, facts, demise, legacy, and possible future. Lots of pictures,
and features our own Graham Behan's ZR-1 Gen III LT5.

I don't think I have ever seen so much in one article about our ZR-1's.
Very excited!

Hagerty is an insurance company.
I insure my Z with them.
If you use them, you get their quarterly magazine.

Awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing. There must be a way to get a copy of that magazine (other than insuring with them). Hmmm.

I called Hagerty earlier and they tried to see if any copies were available. None were, but you can still subscribe to the magazine even if you don't have their insurance. But if you do now, you start out with the Fall issue. This Summer issue will be available online in a few months for everyone from what they said.
I also called some local bookstores and they did not carry this publication.

So I had to do more research and it paid off....it so happened the person I contacted just got back from his mailbox this afternoon and this issue was in there...
He just listed the issue and I just made the purchase....should be here in a few days.....

Thanks for posting the issue, sounds like it's a great read!!!

A friend just gave me a copy of the magazine this evening. The ZR-1 article, written by Csaba Csere, is very well written and accurate. Csaba tested the original ZR-1 for Car and Driver and knew very well what he was writing about. Very complimentary of our cars and especially Graham's/Lingenfelter's 3rd gen LT5. He said what we all already know - the car feels very quick even by modern standards! Best ZR-1 article in many years!

What I would love to see is an article about how a small community of enthusiasts has continued to do the development of the motor that GM abandoned. Let's have Csaba Csere drive a few of the Haibeck or Polatsidis modified vehicles. What would he say about a 5.7L motor w the horsepower of a 7L LS-7?
As very impressive as the engineering and packaging of the LSx and LT series of motors is, what would the LT5 be like with 20+ years of additional development.
Maybe we are about to find out.

I'd love to read it if you have a few minutes to scan the article. The pics on the stingray forum are low res and in some cases upside down.
