I'd like to add a bit of sound (not boy racer) but have not found any muffler that uses the same shape or dimension of factory exhaust tip?
Yes, I'm OCD, but I REALLY like the symmetry between the exhaust tip shape and the tail lights. Yes, It's my "my weird" but I can't mix and match shapes. My C3 was WAY easier as round tail light and round, single exhaust tips just worked.
I really like how the ZR1 looks from behind (That makes me an "*** man"?) and I'd hate to mess up the look. Are there any decent exhaust systems out there that use the same factory exhaust tips? If not has anyone modified a performance muffler using the factory tips?

A good muffler shop could cut off stock tips and weld them on to new mufflers.

Bill, I completely understand this ...
I had to have the stock tips on my GXP, so I did as BigJohn suggested and had my stock tips welded on the aftermarket mufflers.

A bit "off-topic" maybe!!
Is this a G8 GXP? Would you do the G8 again?

I totally get this, Bill. I had Banks exhaust tips fitted to my Corsa mufflers to get that symmetrical look (as close as I could get). Funny that a GXP is mentioned; I had a GP GXP and when I replaced the mufflers, I had to fit the factory tips to the replacement mufflers since I could not find anything close enough to the factory tips. I was going to replace the GP GXP with the G8 when I traded but when I learned GM was going to drop the Pontiac line, I kept the GXP until I traded it on a Z06 last fall.
Kudos for paying attention to detail; I agree that those 90 and 91 tips add a lot of character to the rear of the ZR-1.

Here's a pair of Dynomax Ultraflow muffs using OEM Z06 tips welded on. This includes use of the NPP valves in one of the tips.

Thanks- The Banks tips look pretty close. There are two the (52909, 52919) that may do the trick.
Attention to detail? Thanks, but I figured it was just my OCD Hobgoblin.

Isn't it nice to know, you are not alone with your OCD situation?

So, you will appreciate that I spent my lunch pulling apart the dash, trying to find a small squeak. I'll know if if I got it on the home commute!
