So I think I want to buy a pair of honest to god driving shoes.
Any suggestions?

I own a pair of these, and you can heel / toe in them very well....just my 2 cents.

Good question . I got a pair from Watkins glen at the track and they are a huge no no for the Z as they slip on rubber pedals like running shoes on freshly flooded ice rinks . But they work great on metal pedals .
I running shoe with a thin base to it will work . The key here is to have a shoe with minimum heel or no heel at all .
I believe the NCM track sell driving shoes at the track .

Hi Steve Well you can spend a "fortune" on "driving" shoes or you can look for a good pair of lace up Oxford type shoes with as thin a sole as possible and as low a heel. Some people do wear moccasins but as there are no laces your foot isn't held properly. You want something with a flexible sole, leather sole is best and as these are reg.shoes you don't have to remember to wear them or change them as true driving shoes should not be worn to walk around.

Stilettos with the heels sawn off work great LOL Kidding

NCM store shows them. It says they are in stock, so I assume they keep them at the store.

I thought those shoes were, well, a "bit over the top" (to put ot nicely:rolleyes: Then I tried a pair. Big difference: no more issues with wide soles and narrowly spaces peddles, excellent "feel", and cooler!

=Jeff=- suggests WRESTLING SHOES as an alternative to pricy driving shoes. But, whatever...they're worth considering!

I have used driving shoes for several years and have had no problems with rubber pedals.

I have a pair of the Ferrari Pumas and they are excellent even for just walking around. Super light.

I've owned several of these over the years....Your right, very light shoe and comfortable walking shoe once one gets OUT of the car lol.

You can purchase driving shoes that are not racing shoes!
