Well BG is getting closer and I just wanted to repost this thread to give you guys a heads up that I would very much like to tutor or help in any way to have you guys toe/healing all over the place in your C4 ZR-1 Corvettes .
I ask that if you are interested to give this post from last year a once over so when we meet up in BG you will have a better under standing of what why when and were you would want to toe/heel ...
I will be bringing my set of sim peddles which I agree are not like that of a C4 Corvette but it will help you visually of how your foot placement is applied to the pedals ...
Not sure if this will be fitted into our already amazing event's schedule but I am sure there will be lots of time after the main events to give you guys/gals some pointers in the hotel lobby , lunch time at the track or anywhere I can set up a chair and the pedals is all we will need ...
Big thanks to all who responded in the original posts from last year to help explain Toe/Heel methods
Thanks
Mike
PS ,,,stupid spell check !

Mike, I'm in. I try to do this in my cowboy boots but find the pedals way to far apart. Maybe it's the footwear. Anyway, count me in. - Steve

Interesting . Never tried toe/heal with cowboy boots . I suggest removing the spurs

My cowboy boots are actually my most comfortable drive shoe. I think I' going to try a real pair of driving shoes.

I keep looking for the "activate rev matching" paddle in the Z but can't seem to find it.
Although the last time I drove a C-7 Z06, I went to lower the radio volume and mistakenly engaged the rev matching feature.
Liked that "music" much better anyway!
At any rate, the old heel and toe days may be at risk. Kids today just hit the lever.

Get a second pair and take off the heal with a knife . Also remove the spurs . Then maybe you can keep your boots on for traction . The boots have to flex Steve as you need to point your toe like a pretty ballerina ...

Mike,
Always wanted to master this. Just can't seem to keep my leg up without it getting tired. I will bring my Piloti driving shoes.

Yes ... I believe even in the race world they do not have to toe/heel anymore unless you race vintage like Mark .
... It makes driving that much more fun and interesting plus that LT5 magic sound will happen when you blip the throttle ...

I take it you were in the C7's ? What are there pedals like compared to the C4 ? I only saw an automatic last year at the NCM so I am unfamiliar with them . If anything our cars would benefit from the setup that John Lingenfelter put in his cars like the 630hp unit that Mark owns .. Those pedals in that car are perfectly placed and makes toe/heel a cat walk . As you will see with my sim pedals , they are very similar to what Mark's car has .
Our cars on the other hand are a bit of work to master if your not an avid toe/heeler but absolutely possibly with practice ...

You nailed it ... So start practicing now ..point and stretch , point and stretch , point and stretch ...
Actually you don't have to be pretty ...

I better get the C-7 with the rev match paddle....
Those who know and have met me, understand the visual of me performing the above ballerina routine.
I'll spare you all.

I didn't even know what rev match was until I went to Ron Fellows school in Vegas last month.....Lol...We drove the 2015 stingray and all you do is engage that switch and bingo.....
I tried the heel toe manually a few times, forget it,it takes a lot of practice...

Heel and toe with cowboy boots?
Richard Petty had a pretty good career and he always wore cowboy boots!
He won a few road races along the way too, so he must have heel & toed on occasion?
The sunglasses may have helped...

And, spacing between the peddles was "a little" wider than on a C4!;)

It was the C7 Stingray A7. We had about an hour of dedicated training on heal and toe in the car before the rev match was enabled. The rev match feature on the C7s is addictive - I have it on 90% of the time on my Z06. Nonetheless, I'd like to further develop the H&T skill for the ZR-1 and it's so satisfying when you get it right.
I think the C7 pedal placement is a little more conducive to H&T than the C4. I seem not to be able to get as high revs on the C4 as I get on the C7.

Thanks ZR1North for that update . Interesting info .
Yes the C4 is a different animal . If we could all have the same pedal setup as the Lingenfelter ZR-1's then T/H would be a whole lot easier ...

Naah...NASCAR
Once it is in gear and on the track, it's "GO FAST, TURN LEFT, GO FAST, TURN LEFT"!
Petty could wear spurs too, and it wouldn't make any difference!

Here is a vid from the 2018 BG gathering and I am driving Steve's beast . What a hoot to drive an LT5 with that much juice under the hood ! I like this vid because you can see my hand placement on the steering wheel . After instructing at the driving course I was still seeing drivers placing there hands in the wrong places . Notice how loose my hands are on the steering wheel . I am also pulling down on the wheel threw the corners .
Steve's car has the Hurst short shifter also and it took a bit of getting used too . My hand is sometimes on the shifter but no pressure is applied until the shift .
Also I have the wrong shoes( wide runners) and you will see a few mess ups with my toe/heel . Proper shoes are key .
Watch how Steve tries to keep all the things at bay in the back of the car we were supposed to take out lol !Ooops .
