Located the relay on my 1990 under the dash. Its buried among wires. If someone else has replaced this is the best way from underneath and digging thru the wires or is there another way. Id rather not disturb the wiring if I dont need to.

Are you talking about the CDM (Control Data Module)?

Amplifier relay is LH side under dash. None of the RH under dash relays are Bose related.

If you have the FSM look in the 8A-201 section for component location images. If you don't have the FSM you need!

I changed out my CDM a couple of months ago.

Now, that I've done it once, I could do it again in about 60 minutes but it took me about 4 hours the first time. There is nothing easy about this fix and you will throw you back out with all the contortion required.

If you break a mounting tab on the CDM, you can get the heavy duty velcro (3M dual-lock) and just attach it to the other metal device behind the glove box. Or even if you don't break anything- it makes it easier to put back in.

Sorry been away from the computer. Im talking about the relay under the drivers side dash. I don't know if it would be easier to access by taking the head unit out. I could not the mass of wires to move out of the way from underneath.

I'd think it shouldn't be as difficult as you hint. It might be very much easier to perhaps lower the steering column. Removal of the "head unit" I'd think accomplishes nothing. I've not ever needed to change so I've no "first hand" but I can't imagine it being that difficult.

Have you used a mirror to maybe look/see where you actually are trying to get to. Reaching and grabbing I doubt will get it

Oh yea Ive seen it. I was under the dash last night. Im sure with some pushing and tugging I could get the wires out of the way but not real comfortable with that. Just wanted to see if anyone had a better method.

No, there really is nothing better. You will have to push and pull the wires around. Actually they will be pretty durable so you don't have to worry.

The Beeotch will be getting the plugs in and out of the CDM.
