Hey everyone

Just viewed a ZR-1 over the weekend in the Michigan area and made a deal with the seller. At last, one of these babies is going to be mine!! :-)

Had a test drive, first time I've driven one and those things are FAST!!!!! I've driven some pretty big cars in the past but that was just awesome. I'm still grinning!!!

For info I located it from the ads on here and it's a black on black 91.

Now all I have to do is get it to it's new home here in the 'great frozen north'!

And join the registry of course! Hopefully should be bringing it back down to the US for the Gathering in May.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa a!

Congrat's Dave. :occasion1

I know the feeling. Only had mine for a few months. Take it easy if you plan on driving it up to Canada. They're awesome cars, but not really on snow. Mine is put away for winter here in Sweden. :sleepy1:

Again - welcome!

Thanks Peter

I would really like to drive the car up here, but there's not likely to be any predictably good weather for several months so I think I'll probably have to trailer it back.

I'll try to post a couple of pics if I can work out how.

Dave,

 Congrats on the purchase. Sorry our meeting didn't work out as we planned but sounds like your quest ended up well.:dancing If you are ever driving around this area give me a call and we will get together. Good luck and if you need anything just let any of us here at the registry know. It's going to be hard for you not being able to drive until mid April or so. Post pics when you have a chance.....

Thanks Bob. No border issues this time thank goodness! ;)

It was a shame I didn't get chance to meet you but hopefully we'll get chance at some point. I plan on driving quite a bit so I am sure I'll be down that way at some point.

I think i am getting a better deal on this one anyway. The car seems a lot cleaner than the 92 and has all the original parts, dual roof package etc. with it.

Waiting sucks! :thumbsdo: But after waiting 17 years I guess a few months isn't too bad :)

Glad to hear you have found one that you will be happy with, and we look forward to hearing about all the fun you will have.

Thanks John. Yes it's the one that Pat listed. He's done a great job of keeping it really nice too. So a big round of thanks to him and any other previous owners for that.

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys at various places/events.

Dave, that looks like a real gem. Is it just as nice inside? Are those wheels ZR-1 from '95 or what?

Hi Peter

The inside is pretty much spotless and the underside is very clean too. The wheels are chromed reproduction A molds as used on the later Zs. The original sawblades and original tires come with the car. It has a borla exhaust and the original exhaust comes with it. Also a 4.10 Dana rear end is fitted but again the original gears come with it.

I need a speedo correction for the gears, the seller didn't get round to fitting one before he decided to sell. One of the speakers is flaky, but he already has a replacement, just not fitted it yet.

Also has original delivery kit and video, an attache case?? and the original window sticker. Originally sold in California.

Something I need to pass inspection here in Canada is daytime running lights - has anyone any knowledge of how best to go about this? I found a company (http://www.webelectricproducts.com)selling a DRL module but don't know anything about them. Is there an 'official' option?

oh and it drives like a rocket! :)

oh and it drives like a rocket! :)i have to do this quick otherwise i get logged out & lose my message i'm trying to send:confused: :???: , webelectronic's unit is good but i sent mine back because of all the wiring. i want to keep my car factory & there is no way a guy is going to tie the module into the harness, then take it back out without any scar's in the original harness. they gave me my money back no problem once i explained my situation. i ended up making a jumper wire to plug in to the fog light relay under the pass. side dash so the fog light's came on once the key was clicked. then i pulled it out after the inspection. if you are going to leave it hooked up the webelectronic's unit is the one to get. if you need any other help let me know.

Thanks for the info on that Ryan, I don't want the DRL permenantly, just to pass the inspection ;-) I'd rather leave it stock too. If you could send a little more info when you have a few minutes I'd appreciate it - email or PM me.

Dave, it's a beauty....

But it is on dirty slop snow, get it on a trailor now!!!

DaveK

Yes it was a little sloppy that day Bob, not ideal. It was cleaned up again before being put away though so not too bad.

As for getting it on a trailer - that's precisely what I am working on! Just need to get the paperwork done and then it will be on it's way. Hopefully in the next week or so. :D
