Finally cooled down enough over here to get some projects done. I replaced my Pioneer AVIC Z3 series and lost about 10 pounds of modules and cable floating on around behind the dash to include the old 30 pin ipod module, The Sirius brain, the Bluetooth module etc. Ah so ten years ago lol. Well technology marches on no more modules as everything is integrated in one unit with Bluetooth and Apple Car play

I took a quick pic last night of the orange nightglow and backsplash so far I am impressed with this little powerful little unit. My back up camera is retained now has parking assist lol and it interfaces with my sub and amp nicely.

Looks great! How much, if any, cutting of the console trim was needed? And that orange lighting on the unit face looks pretty close to factory. Nice!

And I love you have Alice Cooper jamming out....On a side note, Frank Zappa was going to sign Alice Cooper to his music label. But only if they named the band Alice Cookies lol. True story.

Just had a Jensen VX7021 installed by Marc in the wife's 90 ZR1 we just bought. Nice unit that looks like it was original to the car. She sat outside last night and got her phone paired to it. The back up camera is unbelievably high quality. The car is a driver with nearly 80k so can see no reason not to upgrade.

Very light sanding on the bezel but I had to do that for my old AVIC unit so this was plug and play as its double DIN as well. If you are replacing the factory DELCO radio you will need to cut the black plastic support cradle that support the back of the factory radio support nut. Easy work with a dremel deep into the dash.

I did not know the Zappa/Cooper story

If it works keep it. I thought I was having a problem with my AVIC NAV unit. Turned out there was a short somewhere in the wiring after 8 years of use. I reused the same wiring and the problem continued. After abandoning the wiring and finding new power points and a new ground pathway its all good. Along the way I discovered the hack job the previous owner had done to tie into the factory Delco brain power point. (I should post that picture up... imagine a 28 pin connecter with 3 wires grafted into it and 25 wires cut away under the passenger hush panel. Now I have an old but fully functional NAV unit on my garage bench. However happier with this unit ;)

The original needs to go out for repairs. Kept it because you can never have too many parts. Has a CD stuck in it and am curious what the old owner listened to.our list of things to do now is pretty much stuff we can do ourselves. Marc did the injectors, complete and full fluid flushes, complete tune up with chip, and a few other things. We will do a full detail,in and out, it's filthy but not stained.needs new tires, complete reseal of rubber parts, replace the drivers seat foam and upholstery, probably add after market seat heaters, she gets cold, remove tint from rear hatch window and replace front spoiler. There is more no doubt but that will come in the spring if it ever gets here.
