Christmas came early for me, as we took delivery today of a 95 Yellow ZR-1. Finally after all the searching (Yellow was always my first choice), it is here.
Paint is excellent, the entire vehicle is Mint!!! Engine looks like its never been touched. Interior is also a 10+++.
Since there are hardly any miles on the Z, I intend to keep it that way. Very little use, if at all. And the original tires held up perfectly. I may even bring it out to Carlisle next year. Something I'll really have to give some thought!!!
Here are a few pics, just happy to show everyone the new addition to the family. :-D

Don't forget to check the secondaries for proper operation. Look at those Goodyear GS-Cs!

Danbury Mint, very similar to the Franklin Mint Vehicles from past years. I think these were made back in '95 or '96. They don't show up too often, and the price difference can vary depending on the seller..
I just couldn't pass this one up. May have to go for a drive this weekend[-X, but then again, just might leave it where its at!!!:D

Yes, the GS-C's are still brand new.....not a hint of "dry rot"...:-D
Will check out secondary operation for sure.....of course when the engine reaches operating temps......

That is very cool. I'd love one. I look for '90 stuff all the time. Not much out there. Toy companies are so dumb.

I agree. When I had my red 90 I wondered the same. Biggest production number and color.....nada.

So the first mod is???? Oh and watch for that windshield delamination........being a model guy, that is very well detailed. Especially the pluming in the engine. No surprise as Danbury makes some of the nicest models around. Nice find!!

No mods, keeping it stock, except maybe for some Carter bling....
Just discovered a slight blemish on the rear wheel, but it might be out of warranty. I'm sure the dealer will give me a hard time on this!!!

It is a nice find, thanks....always looking, got lucky this time!!!

Ok, besides things not connected in the engine compartment, curb rash needs to be addressed. And of course some Carter bling.
And then to get judged........hmmmm:-D

I'll have to keep my eyes open for one. Danbury used my GrandSport as the model for the GS car they made. Took tons of pictures and measurements.

That is great.....did they also present you with a model after they went into production? Post some pics, that would be cool....

If your looking for a Yellow Z, there are a few more out there on ebay, but again the prices and shipping vary among sellers. Mine was somewhat reasonable for an unused model.
I don't know if they offered any other ZR-1's for our time period...

Did find a GS on ebay and it is expensive.....still NIB never used....$$$

That sounds like a fine idea Marty, it will keep us busy for a long time....:)
as if you don't already have enough keeping you busy.......:D

Been listing the "toys" on ebay, had some good sales today. I really stocked up over the last 10-12 years with the thought of having something else to keep me busy during retirement. As if I don't have enough with the "big" collection to keep me busy!!!
So it's time to sell the "toys". Will take me quite awhile, but that's extra cash for the C3's & the C4. Plus it makes the buyers happy, as they get to add all NIB items to their collection(s).
And then of course if I see something with ZR-1 attached to it:eek:, well you start thinking and you know the rest.....:dancing
