I recently had the windshield in my 91 replaced by Safelite. The windshield looks great and they did a very nice job on the install. However, there was a terrible wind noise where the passenger window meets the rubber molding. Safelite said the molding was defective and replaced it. Now there is wind noise where the top meets the molding above the windshield. Are there differences in rubber molding suppliers? Would I be better off procuring the molding myself instead of letting Safelite provide it? It just doesn't seem that getting a tight seal should be this difficult.

I provided my own rubber (from Corvette Rubber) rather than use the stuff Safelite provides. The Corvette Rubber texture is near "SPOT-ON" to the OEM kind. I've got ZERO problems with it - NO wind noise OR leaking (and I've driven through some real "frog stranglers" too!).

Yes.....provide the rubber molding yourself and Safelite will do a great job for you
