Not sure how often you get out on a 2,000-mi cobweb-clearing road trip, but that's just what Ol' Ruby #275 and I completed, getting acquainted and bringing my "first" ZR-1 home from Colorado to Virginia. I've traded in the Porsche for a proper red state special!
With just 19k mi, including an incredible 58 miles per year over the past decade, I suppose it've been wiser to ship the car back east. [-X
But that would have robbed me of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. 30 hours roaring across Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and finally VA! What a car and what a country!!:proud:
Visiting the dig101 stable in Illinois along the way was a real sanity check. Thanks Kevin!
Bonus: first owner saved most everything, including fragile instruction labels for the parking brake, key fob, and bronze roof and even the wrapper for the Corvette tire pressure gauge. Amazing!
I'm loving my new ZR-1 but it'll be a while, if ever, before I catch up with old timers on this great board! :notworthy
