Hi folks,

Having just test driven a '94 ZR-1 in beautiful Idaho, a life-changing event, it's been good to soak up wisdom from this great site.

Suddenly I am looking to switch out my '08 Boxster S, terrific and fun on twisties here in northern VA, though lacking a bit of charisma by comparison (specifically torque).

Funny, I just toured the Lotus factory in Hethel UK this past Summer, along with a few other lucky souls. Wished I'd known about their involvement in the jewel-like LT5 engine, they probably have stored away relics from that episode. Lotus is one of the last independent manufacturers now but struggling.

Anyway, my initial thought would be 1993-95 ZR-1 in Ruby Red (or other vivid color) and with +/- 20k mi. No/few mods or racing experience.

I just passed on a purple '95 in Florida, stories. Has anyone seen the nice ruby '93 in Greeley, Colorado? Any other suggestions most welcome.

Looking forward to further study on this site and adopting my first ZR-1 very soon!

Been driving ZR-1s since 1991. Currently I drive a blk/blk 94. I'm at Katie's cars and coffee on nice Saturdays. See you out there, Scott.

Scott,

U should really look at Lgaff's 92. Low miles w essentially what is a 510 package w headers and 4.10. Car is in great shape. The 92 comes w ASR.
CAR IS RED.

Anyone know a Corvette mechanic in Denver who could check out a ZR-1 for me?

Right you are, guess I knew my title was misleading. Heart of the Beast just arrived and I'm greedily reading up. What a production this car was... I would encourage all to visit the Lotus plant in southeast England if you can. Colin Chapman bought the old WWII bomber air field for peanuts. Tour is small, up close, and personal.
