View Full Version : Lights...
Good morning all,
I have two other questions for the electric specialists you are...
My third stop light doesn't work and I don't think it's because of diodes and I have the same problem with all the back-up lights on the car.
Any help would be appreciated.
I've learnt from a ZR1 owner that some books exist about all the maintenance of the car... could anyone of you give me the address of where I can get it?
Thanks a lot in advance and have a nice week-end

It's your brake light switch, common problem.

I had the same issue on my 90..I think its the blue wire on the switch if that lights up the brake light the switch is bad...
Hi everybody,
Thanks for your comments... I just need some more details.
Just to introduce myself, I'm a french guy (sorry for this!) and really love the US way of life. I'm a chemist but learnt mechanic by restoring a II World War Ford jeep few years ago. Now this small pretty car is running pretty well but my oldest dream which raised on year 1990 just became reality few weeks ago.
I understand the problem about the stop light but could you help me abotu how to fix this.
Second point is that if you have a ny idea about why my back-up lights don't work I would appreciate
Last but not the least, if you have some ideas of where I can find all the technical documents for the ZR1, don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help...

The brake light switch is under the dash and activated by a stop on the brake pedal arm you will need to remove the knee bolster to gain access to it.
As far as the back lights it may be the switch on the trans. believe it takes a special tool to change it out.

The service manuals can be ordered from Helms I’m sure they have a web site. Sometimes they come up on ebay .
