I want to remove the seat cushion to put new diaphragms in the lumbar pumps. It looks like it has something to do with this half inch round bar. Nothing is Rusty either. Instructions or pics would be a tremendous help

the back cushion is held in by metal clips...
you need to pull in (towards the opposite side) the center pad. one side than the other.

There is a clip in the front that I recall snaps onto the round bar. Pushing down and back very hard at the center front of the cushion should allow you to remove the lower cushion. Sorry no pics. When I replaced the diaphragms on my 93 many years ago, I used pieces cut out from a rubber dish washing glove. As far as I know they are still working. I don't think you can repair them this way on the 94-95 pump. Search the forum--should be quite a few posts on this.--Bob

I have not looked at the 94-96 pump for repair purposes, but there is only one, mounted on the passenger side.
Unlike 93-older the pump runs both direction, inflate and deflate. if you have a 93-older, then in the center of the hard base there is a metal clip that can move backwards when pressure is applied tot he lower cushion, that will release the lower cushion and allow it to come out. be careful as the lines and port inlets maybe be brittle, more the inlets than the lines. then you will see the pumps.. again 93- older, each seat has a pump

the clip was difficult to remove on mine, I ended up using a screwdriver for leverage. You can see the U shaped clip in the front, from underneath.

Its easy if you press down on the front of the seat before you grab the U shaped clip. Incredibly easy. D

Getting the seat back out is a pain in the @$$! You only need to get one side to release then pull the seat cushion towards you to get the opposite side to release. If you gently pull the cushion away from the back seat frame you can at least see the rods that are in the seat cushion. If you can cut a grove in a wide flat blade screwdriver that would help you push the rod off the clips in the seat back frame. Getting it out is a pain in the @$$,putting it back is even harder. Send me a message if I can help.

Yel....Exactly as Daryll suggests for removing the seat cushion :handshak:
I use a short small screw driver (maybe 3 inches long) to reinstall the U Clip......You have to push down on front of seat making sure the U Clip is properly positioned so it appears below as you push down looking from the front. Then with the screw driver inserted above the U Clip, rotate the screw driver up such that the U Clip is pulled down and forward. Release Seat downward pressure.
