Sun load sensor 90 vs. other years ?

I noticed the sunload sensor in my car is missing the R2D2 top. Does anybody know if this is an 90 only part? EBAY has these available but they are 91-96? Anybody know for sure? Any body have a spare sensor ? GC

The '90 sun-load sensor is part #'d as '89 & '90 only.

Part #'d as 16123101, never had one "in hand" to compare but cataloging mentions for the '91+ part # that it includes the cover. Cataloging for the earlier doesn't mention the cover.

I spent some time looking into this, and as far as I can tell the 1990 did not have a cover on the sun sensor.

My 90' doesn't have the cover...but then again, I'm not the original owner, so it could very well have "disappeared" sometime over the last 26 years.

Crazy but I was just trying to figure out if my 1990 was missing the cover. Mine is #0106....Anyone have a answer...I looked online yesterday at as many photos of 1990s as I could and never saw one with the domed cover.

I thought that possibly when the '90 part # was discontinued (2006?) that maybe the '91 was a replacement BUT I can't document that. I don't see the mating connector mentioned BUT the upper grille mount for the '90 & '91 is the same so maybe if you confirm the connector then just buy the later which includes the cover from someone. I'm going to try and confirm the connector later in the day maybe.

I have a 1990 no dome went to the chevy store bought a sun load sensor for a 2008-2012 Silverado popped off the dome 3 small dots of clear silicone and it looks factory.
