Hello
I own a 1990 ZR1 purchased new in germany .
I wonder if the insulation in the hood is originally on export model or the previous owner may have mounted this.
Does anyone know this ?

Welcome to the registry
As others have stated a complete add on however it might have been added to retain heat which would be a priority in winter if driven

I thank for the quick reply , I take away the insulation and hope it has not damaged the inside of the hood.
Are there any other differences in export models ?
On my , I have noticed a square reflex under taillights and a german tag on the passenger side of the engine compartment

Andreas,
I saw one about 3 years ago in München. It did have the yellow in the tailights and it also had the rear fog lights. I did the see in the engine department.

OP - It might be interesting if you post a snapshot of the SPID label on the console door. Does it show U19 and T60 maybe? The codes Nxx and Vxx (xx - additional letter & number) might be interesting.
Are the gauges on the cluster only metric? Oil pressure kPa etc The SPID would be interesting.
Include a snapshot of the under hood "data-plate" also.
SPID - Service Parts IDentification stuck on console lid door.
The REFLEX on the rear doesn't look OE/GM

An interesting SPID label
EXP - Export
MAE - Marketing Area Europe so EXPORT IT IS!!
U19 - Metric cluster
VC5 - Shipping Label other than US, possessions OR JAPAN
V78 - Vehicle Statement Delete (which I'm not sure but would remove the Certification Label we're accustomed to seeing on the drivers door, with weight, tire placards and weights)
and of course
UL2 -European Radio Frequencies
