I love this quote and absolutely agree w it even today.

"This machine illustrates the incessant battle between the great and the goofy at Chevrolet. The 32-valve V-8 is nothing short of heroic, an engine to be reckoned with anywhere."

Really nice to see a 1990 in Competition Yellow.
1 of 23.
Have yet to see one in the wild!

best part of the article is missing, the actual test results. Its was a hot day so all of the cars struggled. The ZR-1 ran the quarter at 13.4 @109....but if you look at the time to 130 MPH, the ZR-1 is there 5 seconds before the next closest car; 9+ seconds faster than the Porsche or Ferrari

We keep saying it Lee. The ZR-1 is a thoroughbred, not a quarter horse. It really doesn't get going till after the first 1/8 mile.

And proof of that we see at the annual Corvette Shootouts where the Zs more often then not find themselves chasing tail lights out of the hole. But, they begin to real them in at every shift, running them down and usuall passing them at the end.

(The next Shootout is September 25th, at what is best known as the US=41 Dragway (off US-41, north of Morocco, IN BTW!)
