I have ECM Code 23 Manifold air temperature sensor low. the Wiring looks OK so its probably the sensor. Odd thing is that the SES light only comes on when I am idling. As soon as I get moving for a minute or two the SES light goes out. Its been very hot here in Houston so I am wondering if the sensor is just overheating? Oil and water temps are hot when stuck in traffic but no more than 3/4 of the gauge for water. middle for oil.
So my question is this seems like a good time to do the MAT relocation mod to the airbox or further out in the breeze. When you do that I assume you leave the old sensor in place and just buy a new one and an extension pig tail to wire it? or do you put a plug in place of the old sensor? Also is failure of this sensor a common event?

Thanks

I think Dom has this mod. From my understanding the factory hole is plugged and the extension harness is for moving the unit closer to the intake of the air. Maybe he will chime in

I've got the same exact problem. I searched, without success. How do you fix Code 23, lighting on only when idling, coming out of a highway for example?

I replaced the sensor in the stock location, never had an issue after that.
