New to ZR-1's and just bought a 1993 40th Anniversary ZR-1 with 8600 original miles. Does the one-to-four shifts requirements apply to ZR1 6sp transmission? Have not seen light nor am I restricted from shifting to 2nd at any time.....I understand the connection can be disabled and wondering if that would impact my 2nd issue.....the PKE system which will not engage the security or door locks, but open the hatch..???....help in both issues is appreciated....thanks

Yes it does and it's easily defeated with a plug in harness available by most parts houses. It's possible the po did the skip shift modification for you before you purchased the car. It is not related to your PKE system. You may have to retrain the remotes and that procedure should be in the owners manual. Welcome to the forum

welcome to the forum and the registry! The 1-4 requirements are low rpm...under 2000 I think and less the 1/4 throttle...I think? but it's easy to get around using a chip or a kit.

Thanks for the quick response....ok with 1-4 bypass and glad to hear it doesn't impact the PKE system....retraining fob is a bit of a challenge, but will get through it with enough trail and errors....glad to be member of ZR1 Registry....
