Sorry moderators for posting this thread twice! You can delete one of em
Hello ZR forum. I am now a pretty damn happy C4 owner. Got a LT1 just like in the title. But something keeps bringing me back to the ZR1. I can see how special it is and how you guys of course see that. And I love how rare it is, I love having uncommon things & experiences.
Anyway, I'm not ready to buy now but I'm working hard so its not 3, 4 or 5 yrs from now.
Im sure someone can shoot me the production numbers but I'm wondering what you guys have seen in the past few years? Does one pop up once every 6 months, once a year, once every 2 years? This will help me so that if I see one when I'm almost ready that I should just JUMP on it u know.
Just not looking for a museum piece that will run $30-50k. I'll be old by then lol
Thanks!

Copy and paste from my reply to the other post, in case that is the one deleted...
There is one for sale right now: http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...post1592321564
You can use that as your first and most recent data point for price given condition of the car (and that car appears to be in excellent condition with 50-60k of mileage). Search the for sale pages here and Corvette Forum for "Admiral Blue" and you should be able to gauge how frequently they are listed. Hope that helps and I hope that you find one when you are ready to buy.

AB is nice, but the red ones are fastest!

I'm quite positive they are. Even in stock condition. Sorry Dave.

Any time...any place. We'll put up a box of Padrons as...incentive. I'll be half way threw my first stick by the time you catch up. I'll save one for you, tho. Since I'm such a nice guy!

AB is a very nice color, but as you saw also pretty rare
This one on CF looks nice http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c4s-for-sale-wanted/3826858-for-sale-1994-c4-zr-1-admiral-blue-29000-a.html (for some reason I couldn't get the link posted before to work)
If AB is THE color for you, then save and wait. When I began my search I really wanted a Steel Blue 90. Well, I waited a while, but I couldn't wait forever :) I'm happy with my red one.
Good luck on the search
Take care of the light weights Dave

Like Jay in the OP, I also drive a '94 AB LT1 (mine an A4 w/ 3.07) and I also really want a blue Z someday. I've wanted that since I was a kid in the early 90's.
The production numbers are slim. Even when you combine Quasar and Admiral, you still only have 172 Z's between 90-95. Throw in Aqua and its still just 226. That's a 6 year production run and three shades of blue... and only 226 originally made.
In comparison, Competition Yellow itself had 192 ZR-1's, and nobody would accuse that color of being common!
With that said, I don't think I'd be able to hold out if I was on the market. I like a lot of the colors - including the common reds and blacks. Especially red. Only a matter of time before I'm a regular over on this forum. Haha.

I've been fortunate to have owned an Aqua/Gray 92, and now a 92 Black Rose.
Both fairly rare colors.

When look at interior colors with the above some get very uncommon.

youll pay an extra 10Gs for admiral blue where u could find a lower mileage car and always paint it later. its like trying to get electron blue on a c5 Z06 but more expensive

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm a pretty young guy no wife no kids :dancing lol so I can definitely save but I don't think C4s and ZR1s will stay at bottomed out low prices for more than 2-4 more years.
So if I'd be paying at least 25-30 k right now for an AB then it means prob paying 30-35k maybe 40k if I take too long to save.
Guess I'll just have to stay wife and kid free
