Just wanted to say hello and thank you from sunny south Florida. I recently took delivery of my first ZR-1, it's #1952 made in 1991. The car is black on grey with 8500 miles. This site was instrumental in helping me research and choose this vehicle. Now that I've got one, can anyone in recommend a quality "ZR-1 friendly" shop here in south Florida? I just picked up a set of Stainless Works headers, prom, and open filter lid from Rippie. I also have a Flowmaster system on the way. I'm sure there are places that can easily install a complete exhaust, I just want it done the right way. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the premier site for owners of the ZR-1 Corvette. Congatulations on your purchase. I had watched this car on Ebay for many months. It was listed on Autotrader when I first saw it for $36,950 and I don't remember the last price on Ebay, but if I remember right it ended up under $30k finally. Looked like a real nice car. I like that you are doing some mods on it right away. This means you intend on driving it. Bravo  I don't know of any shops in Florida but I am sure there will be somebody along soon to make some suggestions for you.

welcome to the zoo.... congrats on the car and the weather...
i used to live in the keyes..in Tavernier..was just there visiting...
anyhow....on your shop inquiry...check around..any
reputable
corvette shop..will do just fine in most cases,
of installing the minor
mods you have planned...
(exhaust...i was there and helped the mechanic
when they installed my corsa and it' only took and hour and 1/2 longer
w/me helping ) once you have driven the car... and start gettting
used to the power...you'll then want to go even faster...
then you will need to find a shop that'll help you with that...
open an account with an photobucket or similiar hosting company..and
race out there and shine that baby up..and post some pics..
we really like pics....of Zr1's in exotic places...

Hello and welcome to the forum.:handshak:
I am glad you were able to use the forums resources to help you decide to buy a KOTH.

There are a couple of shops and freelance mechanics down in Miami-Dade if you want to travel south. One of the shops will take an appointment to install the headers in one day so you do not have to make two trips. I am sure you can find some interesting ways to spend the time waiting on South Beach. ;)
As to the catback exhaust you can have it done at any competent shop to properly fab the connections from the headers. There is a great place (also in Miami) that has experience with corvettes/ZR-1's and also has a mandrel bend machine for high quality custom work. However a Flowmaster set up is pretty straight forward.

So feel free to ask any questions and we will do our best to help out.

Well...there are no ZR-1 shops persay in South Florida...there is a ZR-1 parts supplier in Tampa. Kurt White runs White Racing Products (www.whiteracingproducts.com)...he has a lot of new and used ZR-1 parts. He's OK for a limey! :-) If you call him...tell him Uly says hi! Then there's South Georgia Corvette for all of your mod needs. Aaron Scott at South Georgia Corvette does some fantastic work on LT5s...so after you get the prom, headers and cat back system installed and realize that you want/need more...give Aaron a call. Here's his website.

Congrats on a great car...you won't be disappointed! ZR-1s are IT baby!!!

Welcome Lawdawg! This car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. :)

The only problem is that it isn't often enough here in snowy Denver these days.

Enjoy your new car!
