Hi. I'm new to the ZR-1 forum but have had a couple of Corvettes.
I read a post (I forget where) that said there were six pilot 1989 ZR-1s painted the 31U Arctic Pearl. Is that correct?
Were there other 1989 ZR-1s painted the Arctic Pearl?
And the 1989 Yellow code 35U, were there any 1989 ZR-1s in that Yellow?
Thank you.

I believe the Geneva press car might be the yellow your talking about,it's in the museum I believe. There was one of the U.K. crushed cars restored that might be PEARL WHITE but not sure Back around 1988-89 I was on my way to Fresno and a pearl white Base Coupe past me,never saw that color since.

OK, thanks. It seemed like someone listed the VINs, not sure if it was on a thread in the forum.
If I join the ZR1 Registry, does a member have access to records of the 1989 Arctic Pearl ZR1s and their matching interior colors, VINs, transmission, build dates, etc?

Ah, here it is from an 11-22-2010 ZR-1 Net post:
Quote
"There were:
6 1989 31U Arctic Pearl Pilot ZR-1s:
#06
#11
#14 (Car pictured above)
#15
#16 was a press used car
#17
There was at least 1 31U Arctic Pearl 1989 Active prototype:
#25"
Does anyone know if additional information has been verified?

Yes #3 is the Red/Red press car featured in most early magazines. A rumor I have yet to document is it was given to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry for display. GM forgot about it. Years later the museum wanted to give it back and they had no idea what they were talking about, but they took it. Turns out is was the #3 ZR-1. Although it was VIN #3 it was actually built last in the pilot run.
Here is the order they came down the BG line:

#3 was used when they rolled out the new ZR1 for the press. This was the last official use of my #74 ZR-1 as well.

VIN 00017 was definitely Pearl White as I had that car stored when if first came back to the US. It was restored before the other one that came with it which was VIN Medium Metallic Blue (not certain of official color at present) that is presently in the Mid America Corvette Museum.
