For sale: aftermarket calibration chip for a 93-95.
This custom calibration was done on a chassis dyno for a 93-95 engine with an Automasters, 500-hp "Street Skinner" performance enhancement package.
The calibration was one of the last done in the early-'00s by famed LT5 aftermarket calibration engineer, Ron Zimmer (now retired), of Z-Industries.
It is intended for use with an engine with stock displacement (350-cuin/5.7-liter) which is modified on both the intake and exhaust sides. You need to have ported heads, ported housings, a ported plenum and reset stock cams along with significantly reduced restruction in the exhaust for this chip to work well.
This cal has fuel and spark schedules appropriate for that level of modificaions. It, also, has lower fan-ons, CAGS disabled and is intended for use with port throttles. Premium fuel is required with this calibration.
An interesting feature of this chip is a fix Zimmer developed for 93-95 cars which flunk an "I/M 240" emissions test because of high oxides of nitrogen (NOx). I/M 240 tests usually have an initial speed of 15-mph where it takes the first exhaust sample. The stock calibration doesn't enable EGR until 17-mph. which means high NOx below that speed. This cal is revised with a 14-mph enable speed to reduced NOx emissions which helps any 93-95 pass an I/M 240 NOx test.
Price: $150 postpaid anywhere in the U.S.
