Hi, I've been a ZR-1 owner and Registry member a little over a year and this is my first post. I purchased my car as a retirement present to myself last January and have been busy moving from south Florida to central Florida this past year.

To make a long story short, I came upon a red/saddle 1990 ZR-1 via Auto Trader and decided to take a look. The car was pristine and had only 28K miles. It had new tires, new battery, and the injectors and ac compressor have been previously replaced. It also has headers, a Borla exhaust system and 4.10 gears. On start-up the car sounded great. Then when I popped the hood, I was so impressed in how accessible everything was on the LT5, i.e., plugs, oil filter, etc.; I made the deal. The car continues to run strong and I am are very happy with it.

During this past year, with the help of all the technical posting on this Forum, I was able to replaced the instrument panel (couldn't see speedometer LED readout + inaccurate tach.), clutch master cylinder, and slave cylinder. With the power of the internet and guidance from this Forum, it has been sheer pleasure driving and maintaining this vehicle.

My other car is a 1957 Chevrolet 210 HT, 6cyl., auto. that I have been working on for the past 20 years to restore (a work in progress).

I look forward to participating on the Forum.

Thanks,

Rick T.

Welcome to the BROTHERHOOD OF THE BEAST! Of course you know too, that the RED ONES are the fastest!! (They've even been known to get air borne at times!:p )

Congratz on your retirement!

Congrats and Welcome! Nice ride!

I currently have the trans and clutch out of my Z, and no way would I have ever attempted that without the help from this forum. No better place on the net! :saluting:

Very nice....Looks great with the A-molds....Always wondered, the cut outs on the front plate, are they there for a reason? Maybe to direct air flow ? Enjoy...

That's quite an impressive undertaking, I'm hoping I won't have to do that anytime soon.

Thanks,
