What cams? Was it a result of the head gasket?

Sorry your car is broke Jim. Thanks for the video ride along in your car. Sounds very healthy. Hope you fix it soon so you can keep on enjoying it.

Just a scratch, it'll buff out.

I received today a Road & Track issue from August 1998. Was curious about the top speed test of the yellow LPE 415. With 3.07 rear gears the car did run in 5th with 6'100 rpm not very impressive 201.5 mph. But with open pipes it did 218.1 mph. The engine had just 620 bhp. Can that be?

Sam, this engine dyno sheet is a bit higher at 688 h.p.......I have a video tape of the event, and the yellow car went 218. You outta hear coming off of turn 4!

Of course one of the best parts of the video, is when the Hennessy Viper catches on fire, and JH is throwing gravel and rocks on it trying to put out an oil fire.......

I never was able to get it into a usable computer file....remember 1998 tech on a CD.....I gave a copy to Mark Horner, maybe he has been able to do something with it to be able to share it....that would be fine with me........

Hey Jim, regarding the books detailing the mods to your cars engine. Are they available for sale, were they made esp. for your car?

thanks

Paul Smith, the previous owner, had a friend who was a top notch photographer and apparently also was able to get a professional quality book published about the car. I have a copy and Paul has a copy. Mine is not for sale.
