Found this while surfing Ebay. I had never heard of this Camaro before, and had no idea GM would ever built it but they did. Aside from the 90's crazy colors, it's kinda badass.

I have. it was a part of the GM Heritage collection that crossed the block at BJ auctions about 5 years back. Yeah the colors were all the rage back in the day and yes it is a one of one. GC

I was there and saw it go across the block. Even bid on it a couple times (but it got out of my budget quickly).... Cool concept, but it takes some getting used to the colors.

Do not like the graphics at all....Than again if it's dark out and you drop your keys between the seats,I'm sure they will glow in the dark...
Love the ram air effect on the LT-5 motor .....Guess it would be a little cramped to get this set up on the ZR1..The front fascia is to narrow to fabricate a hole to allow the ducts....Nice concept though ....
The car sounds awesome and drives well. Nice piece of Camaro history there will all the good parts from the GM parts bins including the ZF6 trans.

I remember that sucker. It was built for SEMA, I think, after the LT5 was introduced to the media in June '88 at old Riverside International Raceway.
Jon Moss was controversial for sure. He was a "madman" when it came to building show/concept cars. Some thought he was a nutcase.
To be honest, I'd forgotten about all the LT5 stuff he did until I saw those images, but one car I really remember was an aluminum 572-cuin Gen 4 F-car he built. I remember driving it one time at a press preview and thought, wow....it this thing got into the hands of an inexperienced driver it would be like having a grenade with no pin and the handle held with a rubber band.

Is that the paint scheme from original? Or did someone do that later?
If that's the scheme from its debut, probably best to leave it ugly, for max value (my uneducated guess).

It is how GM built it. It would be tempting to improve it but how much history does that ruin?

I hadn't seen this before so thanks for posting.
I do like the air intake system - it complements the LT5 well.

No Power Key, but I do see an On/Off switch under the hood. Sure do like the custom intake on this Camaro LT-5.
I'm Atari generation, and these colors are making a comeback for sure!...LOL!
Before I decided on buying a ZR-1, I was considering a white 1984 Z28 HO, and then the '89 Turbo Trans-Am.

I remember that car, it was a 1993 4th GEN, 572 ZL1 they actually use two LT1 plenums on that car, dual t-body and all, Jon Moss also has a different intake on it for the below shootout(I only remember the dual plenum intake seeing the car originally). 572 cubes Donovan block, with a 5 speed 673hp with 710 ft/Lb 13.85:1 compression 9.55@144mph (9.55@144mph).

The good old days of GM EFI performance. LT5, LT4 turboed L98's, LT1, LC9, LC2(3.8 turbo).
I am saddened of just how much of the good parts found in the GM Performance Parts (now Chev Performance Parts) catalogs are now NLA, both SBC AND BBC.
The GEN 3, 4 and now the GEN 5 Direct Injection stuff is taking over, but damn some of it is pricey.
It is how GM built it. It would be tempting to improve it but how much history does that ruin?
If one was to repaint and redo the interior, they should be starting with a different car. It would ruin the history of the car. It would be like taking one of the four Lingenfelter Twin Turbo LT5and removing the turbos and adding a supercharger.

This car would be an awesome addition to my low mile thirdgen collection and I have been really thinking about it, though i'm not in love with the graphic package... must be incredibly fun to drive! And yes for best $$ later it would need to be kept just like it is. I'm really hoping to buy a 91/92 Firehawk as I have wanted one for so so many years... one of these days...

There is someone who just recreated this paint scheme on his 91 1LE Z28 (same car though with LS power)... it's not my cup of tea but there are others that really like it!

It most definitely would round out that beautiful gaggle of 3rd Gen Camaros....Very nice. I graduated high school in 1992, so your speaking my language lol. I tired to get my brother to buy a 1991 1LE that a dealer had new on the lot. I knew what it was, tried to get my brother to understand what it was, but nope. Couldn't you drive these 3rd Gens off the GM lot, straight to any SCCA sanctioned race, and be ready to go? Impressive that you have two low mile beauties...
And as far as the 91/92 Firehawk, that is my holy grail someday. Only 25 ever built? I have seen the only green one made at a street machine event years ago. Shocking to see a real deal 92 Firehawk in the flesh, I was speechless. I'd love to have the only Artic white one built. Only one with the aluminum 383 Stroker, completion package, fully roll cage........sigh. One can always hold out hope for their dream car.

Nice!! You know your thirdgen history!! :) Thanks for the compliment!! I love these cars.
Yes, they were set up to be factory acceptable for SCCA racing (sans safety / race equipment). Most of them got hammered on... Mine were bought with the intent of drag racing (lightweight and with the L98) but were never really used for that (or much of anything else haha...) All of mine still ride on their original good year gatorbacks, original paint, etc. Yes, I know of that white Firehawk, 1 of 1 in that color, comp, and the only one ever made with t-tops, incredible car!!!! I have seen many cars in my life but I have not seen one of the 25 in person. I have to find one for sale at some point :)

What an awesome car!! 1 of 111. Do you still happen to have it? Thanks for posting the pic!No, it's long gone. Like a dozen other cars I've owned, I wish I still had it.
Boris Said and Peter Cunningham raced it before I did. I got to talk with them briefly about it. It was a really high quality car with a lot of cool stuff - Bill Mitchell specially valved Konis, a digital brake temperature gauge & lots more. I guess the 1LE package had things like Corvette brakes, stiffer springs and bars. It was only a 305ci but very strong. I raced it for a couple of years. It was a great car, but was going to be too expensive to race often, especially in the endurance races. They really take a toll on a car.

Thank you for posting those pictures. I sat and stared for at least a hour! I have always loved Camaros, especially the 3rd Gens......your all white 1991 is just stunning. And your exactly right, its a shame that the majority of the 1LE's got thrashed. By either those that had no idea what they were, or those who used them for what they were intended for lol. Kudos to you for keeping two in such original, unmolested state.
I guess I was lucky to see that green Firehawk at a street machines. I was scoping it hard to see if it was a knock off. But it was the real deal and just gorgeous. I'm with ya, I'm saving my pennies for one for the elusive 25.........

No problem on the compliments, I'm sure your used to it with such beautiful 3rd Gens......That 91 looks like it just rolled off the GM assembly line!! I can't imagine how sore your back is next day after getting it that spotless lol......So yours is AC/ radio delete, meaning you have the rare aluminum driveshaft, gas tank baffle and pickup, and the heavy duty Corvette brakes?? I'm not familiar with the Z03 option. Is that the heavier duty shocks? or driveloop?
I'd love that ZR-1 Z28 as well, OR take that 59k and buy the lowest mileage 1LE I could find. I just can't get past that paint job, and you know if one changed it, it's defacing GM heritage. Thanks for posting the new pictures, and for keeping those 1LE's so original! Now I need to stop staring at it and get back to work.......

Thanks!! Yes, thats correct the car above has no AC, radio delete, crank windows, big C4 corvette brakes, baffled gas tank, alum driveshaft, no fog lights, etc. 1 of 175 '91's with the L98. My other one is a '92 1LE, virtually the same car but has the Z03 option which is the 25th anniversary heritage edition. Special order car... Ahhhhh the Heritage package, Z03. Makes sense I've never heard of it. Having only made QTY 32 of those bad boys, that is a VERY rare 1LE.....I'm extremely jealous, as having almost pulled the trigger on a 1LE a few times. But nothing of the caliber of what you have!! Those huge C4 brakes, that I think they advertised as being able to change out at the track in under 10 minutes. If you don't have the lowest mileage, showroom fresh 1LE's I've ever seen, I don't know who does lol!! Maybe one or two in the GM's stables. Do you get to drive them much?? And were all the 25th Annis white with Red? I swore I saw one back in the day that was black with red stripes.......

I think your right, and I do remember seeing some with silver stripes and different colors. I had a 1979 Z28 that was a sleeper, wish I never would of traded it in on a 1992 Thunderbird Super Coupe. THAT was a mistake!

Thanks!!! If you ever decide to look for one let me know and i'll help you oit! I do drive each to car shows and cruise nights. I have put 500 miles on each since I took ownership of them over the last two years. May not sound like much but each has been on a fall foliage cruise that is 100+ miles long and I drive them in a spirited way like intended :)
That is correct, they made white with red, black with red, purple with silver, and red with black.
There are definitely others with lower mileage out there but I enjoy driving them a bit and the sub-1000 mile examples are kind of tough to feel good about using. I try to keep mine as clean as any of those the best I can.

Purple with silver stripes. That has to be a rare color combo. Were any of those 1LE's? If I were to ever look for one, it would have to be as nice of an unmolested original as yours. Just like you I'd want to use them, with a lively drive every now and then! Well it is good to know a true 1LE aficionado as you if I ever start looking. But the real question is, would you trade all your gorgeous 3rd Gens in for one 91/92 Firehawk lol??

Damn nice Z!! Is that of the 305 or 350 nature? I always thought the 305 H.O. was the faster car, And more easy to mod? Very very clean interior, that leather rocks man!! Thanks for posting

Yes, believe it or not they made two total 1LEs plus the Z03 option in purple. One was a 305 stick, the other a 350 automatic. The 305 car has been confirmed to go to a junk yard, the 350 car has about 70k miles and I know the owner, he plans to put it up for sale at some point this season.
I totally would! I'd even consider trading my Callaway for one. I have always wanted one, I need to get one at some point :)
And thanks to everyone else who posted pics of their thirdgens, love to see them, very nice!!

Hmmmmm you know the owner and he is thinking of selling huh? For me, driving a purple car just would be tough lol....but being one of two 1LE's in that combo, plus being of the 350 variety. I think I could get past the color. And you have a Callaway as well???? Twin turbo or just Call away modded Vette? When I lived in Florida, a guy I worked with at Disney of all places, had a 1988 twin turbo Callaway. He blew the radiator and it was some crazy price to fix it.....
And yes, thanks to all who posted 3rd Gen pics. I wish I could find a pick of my 1979 Z28 sleeper!

Oh holy hell!! That's your Callaway? I have drooled over that car many times on this site, as I'm sure other have as well. You have quite the collection of rare, beautiful machines. I'd SO be interested in that 1LE. I just need to finish paying off my Z this year before jumping into another car payment.....But damn, one of one!!!!!

Thanks!! Yes that's my Callaway. Thanks so much for the compliments, I really appreciate it!! Looking forward to using it more this season, I have only driven it about 300 miles total in the 4 years since I bought it. Keep me posted if you do and i'll get you in touch with him! It's a reasonably priced car especially considering how rare it is :)
Nice cars gents. Of note, the last 2 or 3 1992 SLP Firehawks came equipped with the 366 cid aluminum block rated at 375hp.
There is a member here on these forums that owns a red 1992 Firehawk. T5iroc has many dead link pics in this thread as well.

I wish the Heritage package Camaros had gotten the equipement that they were originally designed to receive. More power and the ZF 6 speed trans.
Don't forget about the 1989 Turbo T/A.

I looked long and hard at a 89 turbo T/A, and if a person has never driven one, please do so!! One of the quickest production cars I have driven. And one of the most under rated muscle cars of all time.....and I believe the only two 1992 Firehawks with the all aluminum 366 were the only white one, and blue one. I could be wrong one the blue one, but you are right, only 2 owners originally checked the 366 cid option box lol......I have seen the red Firehawk on here. Seeing it parked next to a ZR-1, is like car porn!!!

Thanks!! Yeah, I moved around a bunch of the pics of my cars to organize them a bit and in the process killed the links, sorry.
Yes, he has my dream car!! Absolutely gorgeous!!!! What i'd give for that one...
I know, would have been great if they made the heritage car as planned... They made two prototypes, i'm told that one still exists.
