I am in the middle of removing my passenger side axleshaft, and I have unbolted the rear tierod, and lower control arm that connects to the camber adjustment. I cannot seem to get the axleshaft off of the YOKE that connects the wheel bearing. It might be seized on there. I have covered it in Liquid Wrench. I am going to let it sit tonight and try again. Has anyone had this happen before?

I'm assuming you unbolted the hub nut from the axle shaft also or the straps for the universal.

I didn't mention this in my original post. Yes I have removed all the straps from both U Joints.

Not sure if this provides any clues, but this video helped me in removing the rear wheel bearing assembly from the axle shaft…

So I tried using some heat on the yoke side of the U joint. It did not work at all. I noticed there is a decent amount of rust on the joint. I tried hitting them to try and free them up. I guess I will have to remove the whole yoke and axleahaft.

What size is the axle nut?

Axle nut should have about 160+lbft of torque on it, so you'll need something hefty. Also, Liquid Wrench sucks. Try to use KROIL. Fantastic stuff. Sounds like somebody didn't use U joints for Aluminum.

I have always used Liquid Wrench the rust penetrating oil and it works pretty well.

Right now my axleahaft will not come off the yoke that goes to the wheel bearing. I haven't taken it all apart menaing the shaft is still in the car. I will try to get a picture.

Is this the correct washer or seal that go behind the axle nut on the hub bearing? My washers are in rough shape.

Gibbs works like a dream as well.

So I ended up removing the yoke and axleshaft. After doing this the yoke basically fell off after I put a little pressure on it. I can't believe it wouldn't release while the yoke was attached to the Hub.

So I tried to save time and just cost me more time. Gotta love it.

Live and learn. Glad you got it done.
