I believe one route folks go is to take advantage of the Viper tire sizes, as they are somewhat common. 275/35-18's front and 335/30-18's rear.

I run the ccw rims with the 285 up front and the 335 18s in back. I hoped to get more traction but honestly the sidewalls are so short and stiff I think the 17s hooked better. the hope at the time is that the tire sizes would be more available and it didn't turn out that way.
the 335s are kinda hard to find
michelin pilot sports
Toyo RA1
Nittos
drag radials (BFG)
honestly, I had to stick with the michelin pilots which are uber expensive and really don't hook as well as I would like, but they wear and handle decent.
the 18" rims are also a bit prone to damage from the mean streets. watch out for bad pot holes. I've dented the rims twice already.

Snow is deep here in Sweden and the temp is below minus 10 deg C. :sleepy1:
Still - my new wheels have arrived. I know the pictures are lousy, but the wheels are all the much better
Fikse Aro 9.5x17 front and 11x17 rear.
Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 275/40/17 front and 335/35/17 rear.
Now just waiting for springtime.

Price of the wheels were $4.234 straight from Fikse including shipping to Sweden. Add 25% to that for VAT. Tires were $2.785. Sums up to some 8 grand.
The piano is a Yamaha U1.
Wife's happy as long as I don't keep the wheels in our bed.
Be back with pics once the wheels are on my Z.

 I'm 100% with Aurora40. I have 10" and 12" X 18" and John from CCW gave me a custom offset after I took some measurements and they fit perfectly, tucked and no rubbing; love the ride, look and traction. :dancing
