Last night our web hosting provider updated the PHP level of their servers. PHP is basically the programming code that runs the forum.
Unfortunately our forum's software is old enough that this newer level of PHP will not work with our version of vBulletin.
We have rolled the critical PHP files back to a level that works. We have also looked at upgrading our forum software but we are not hearing great things about vBulletin 5 (newest and buggy) or vBulletin 4.2
We continue to look at our options...
On the bright side, we have purchase the mobile suite for vBulletin, which works with 3.8.x, 4.2 and 5. This will allow mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to have a better experience on our forum.
We will keep you posted as this develops.
Thanks

I've not seen any subscription response either recently. Has the software perhaps changed to a "daily only" available and we all need to change the "instant" to another that might be the default now? The subscribed threads appear where one would expect and the more current are displayed with some options but "no notifications" for a very long time. I just changed mine from instant to daily to see if maybe just a change from one to the other might work. If I see one overnight maybe I'll just change it back to instant to see what happens.

Is anyone receiving "notifications"? I changed the timing of delivery trying to maybe force a change with no luck. I hadn't seen comments in the past few days and thought I'd ask.
Is it maybe the way it will remain?

No notifications here but that is OK with me as I tend to get too involved.
If you are carrying on a technical discussion trying to help someone or learn more details about the technical issues yourself , however, it would be nice if you got a notification on the questions asked of you so you could respond in a timely manner :handshak:
Will it remain you ask.......maybe ;) At least we can now log on the Forum :p
I am about ready to just post my cell phone number so if someone wants me to go into more detail or they want to give me some interesting technical information helpful to me, they can just text message me. Many have my cell phone number allready which I provide primarily as a learning experience for me as new and interesting technical LT5 issues come up (they call me giving me a heads up on technical issues I have not yet come across in my own experience).

Yes! Mark and Dennis and our site host have spent considerable man hours pouring over the particular software (code-level) details and think they have run the "glitch" to ground.
As you know, the old server "went over the cliff", causing the site to slow down and finally quit altogether. So, the FORUM site and all its files were moved to a new server and also some necessary upgraded software was added in the process.
The technical details are best left confidential, but the missing notification features (like before) should be restored within the next day or so, barring any unforeseen complications!
Thanks goes to Mark Horner and Dennis Feirstien for their dogged, often late night efforts and computer expertise to keep our FORUM up and running. So, tip a cup-o-cheer of thanks to them!

The subscription notifications missing for a time is not really a big issue but was and is a nice function of the Forum for those keeping up with technical questions and answeres. This glitch gave me the opportunity to clean out old subscriptions for old threads wherein the associated LT5/ZR-1 Technical Issues/Questions have been solved and such Solutions have been incorporated/Indexed in -Solutions-.
Thanks Mark and Dennis for working the bugs out of the New Software for us

There's six or more "registered users" in the mix presently (6:40) and if all would just post to this thread it should certainly create a mix that "users" would see if notifications are actually fixed.
Do we need to flush maybe the "OLD" subscriptions information to allow new to generate?

I did the same deleting ALL subscriptions. I thought no one was responding to the threads I was subscribed to :p
Figured my responses were killing the threads.

Glen, could you be specific? The more specific info on your experiences, the better.
For example, I'm not getting notices to posts I'm subscribed to, but I AM getting PM notices - as far as I know (got a couple in the last two days).
Thanks!
PS: Anyone else have other specific issues to report? Might as well be comprehensive. You can either post them here, or send an email to me or any of the BOD members. It HAS BEEN a real PIA, as you all know. LOTS of man hours chasing this stuff down (again...).

My hunch is it's not related to the recipient's email client, OS, etc., but rather the forum server just isn't sending the messages.
