Hello enthusiasts!

We (the Board) want to encourage ZR-1 related events
centered around the car, but all about the people. Over
the years I have learned that ZR-1 owners are pretty
unique in our enthusiasm, community, and dedication.

We talked about publicizing local GTG's. For example,
I wished I lived near WAZOO Or FBI land (OK, not really,
with the weather there) where an LT5 pull is all in a day's work.

Who knows, if you gather enough participation and growth,
you can be appointed a REGION CHAIRPERSON! WOW!
Another possibility is to piggyback along with another event
such as a race or show.

Let me know well in advance of any events and we'll see
what we can do. Thanks!

Hi Ted,

What can these events be?

Mod/Maintenance Day? Being Car-centric

Or Luncheon/Dinner Gathering people-centric

Or a combination of both?

Jeff, Just to give you an idea we would like to combine events so we can get a greater participation rate. Here is an idea of what we are trying to create.
Ken Lingenfelter Museum of Friday, Drive from Kens museum to the Mackinaw bridge stay overnight, Saturday sightseeing on the island and a drive to Chicago, Sunday Mark H BBQ.

Hey Jeff!

To answer your question, any and all and more!
The goal is for ZR-1 people to have fun and socialize,
either for pizza or wrenching, or week long drives.
Whatever y a'll want to do.

Some Z owners are waxers. Fine, car shows are great.
Some are travelers (& have the time) so overnighters/
drives are great.
Some are (wannabe?) racers, so events like autocross,
Mile or 1/2 mile pulls, road racing, drags are wonderful.
Some want to learn maintenance or building so garage
gatherings are popular.
Whatever floats your boat, I'm sure there are others
with similar interests.

Hi Jeff,
that is why I started an event with the help of my friends, BAMA-Q.

So....Now that I have legit place with 5000 sq feet, 3 lifts, A chassis dyno, and ample parking for over 150 cars as well as a 1/4 acre of grass area(BBQ, Sumo ring, ect :)..........I am picking up the torch where others have layed it down........

We are announcing that we will begin this year with the first annual ZR1 BBQ/Gathering/Car Show.

The shop is 9 miles from the new Dominion Raceway and I am trying to set up dates for us to get the cars on the track, so I would like to have this BBQ coinside with that..

The date will be posted once I get good feel of what the best date is not to interfere with other posted events.

Please let.me.know either privatley or here to what you would like to see and what your opinions are on a date...

As long as I have a shop.....this will.be an annual event!!

A Woo Hoo, and hearty slap on the back, vigorous handshake, and wishes for the best of luck to you, Dempsey!

I know the Z brothers of the world would love to see some pictures (lots of pictures) of your debut gathering - so important to "Keeping the Legend Alive!"

(BTW, Dave Hetrick, editor of HOTB would appreciate pix and some descriptions of the event highlights..hint, hint!)

Dyno day and cook out at Demps coming in April, but lets do a few BEFORE then. If we can muster enough folks, we can rent the dyno for a day and get some wide band traces and even data stream recording during the dyno pulls for follow up tuning sessions.

This is a great way to make sure your ZR-1 "really does that" and is running the way it should.

The dyno "tells the truth" about what the car is putting down and what could be better than a safe day gnawing a dead animal, hoisting a few beverages and listening to the Beast at WOT.

Let's see what folks are out there.

I can think of a few recent Wazoo builds that might need a tune, and I have some "exotic junk" that I need to baseline to humble myself and start the tuning process (*old chevy 350s just ain't an LT5  8)

I even will dyno the little "pie in the sky" redline to see what it will do and add some of Demps handywork (ported head, big valves, e85, turbo, exh, ext) to show how a little 4 pot can hold together and boost a muv.

The kit cars are a hoot, and like will pull a savage 200+ at the tire, but with a bit of TLC I hope to get closer to 300.

The little sky will start out at around 200 at the tire, but very quickly bump to 320, and later to 450 at the tire which should make for a quickly fried slushbox (excuse for more beef).

Come on out! Like to organize something by mid march to get ready for the mountian runs and BG 2017

There is LOTS new happening in the LT5 world and 2017 proves to be an exciting time for new developments and more affordable HP than ever.

Thanks Demps for going "all in".

Please post up if you are interested. Also need volunteers to help me "herd the hp" down to Demps place. Ya might get to drive something pretty cool :)
