I believe our LT5 has just become obsolete when this comes out. This would be an awesome replacement.

Maybe this is the engine for it. Now that would be cool.

ZR-1 with a Mercury Marine 4 cam, 32 valve. I love that.

This is answer to the Coyote motor. If only the heads are priced "competitively"?
Boy, do I want to see this in a car and on a chassis dyno.! Will MMR do cams for this?

The thought of any size LS motor you want with the ability to use LS components (Supercharger) makes this an awesome prospect.
I hope MMR will make performance cams for this.

That's right Tony. Need to take a close look at Boudreau's LSx swap into a C4 using the ZF-6.

Very tempting indeed.

Frank,
You get an 84 Xfire and pull the motor, then put one of these in there. The 84s were 3200lbs wet, and now you throw in an aluminum block although the heads will reclaim some of the weight savings.

Very interesting and BIG news for sure. The DOHC motorboat engine rises again.

I have always wanted a reason to buy a C5 FRC, Looks like Mercury just gave a reason. 2004 Z06/ZR-1 Commemorative edition.

Better yet, a C6Z06 with these heads.

I had the commemorative edition z06, great car. An LS6 with these heads would be a beast!

I'm not sure it would fit the engine compartment. It is now as wide as an LT5. But, if it does it would be awesome.

gent down in NC had an Daytona prototype LS9 block, short stroke sonny Bryant crank, and some carillo "small pin" 1.88 rods for the crank that would make a monster high rpm LS motor
stuff was very reasonable. I'm going the turbo route so I don't need all this exotic stuff but it sure would make a cool "budget build" even if the MM DOHC heads were 10k with cams (and they probably are that much or more) you could buy some nice custom pistons for 1k and get a short block with this stuff together for 5K!!!
block was 1600 (still has it I think)
carillo rods (with only 24 hours on them =D>) 600 (used of course)
the real kicker was the sonny Bryant billet crank
these normally are a couple of grand for a custom crank and he only wanted 700 for it.
if anyone is interested and I can put you all in touch. the add is on LS1 tech
so it would be an LS 95
ls9 block with MM dohc heads
that beast of a TT merc maring boat motor makes me want a pickle fork
I rode in one down here in Occoquan and 100 on the water feels like you are going to die!!
but the idea of retro heads on a chebby SB brings me back to the "roots" of the LT5 when the original thought was slapping DOHC heads on a stock block chevy
hmmmm........ when do these little rascals hit the streets???:dancing

Boy do I want to see an LS7 topped off w the MMR DOHC heads! Or an LS9SC motor. Wow!
Anybody wanna bet theirs "a set" of these babies somewhere being tested in Warren, MI?

I sure hope so.
while not as elegantly designed as LT5 "ladder bar" bottom end the LSX blocks have a 6 bolt (cross bolted) main and are pretty stout
love to hear more about these heads !!
